<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know I look at the teams they've faced over the years (and I used this as part of my argument the other day in the Duncan thread) and the only truely "great" teams that they've came across over this 9 year stretch are

    a. the lakers
    b. the suns this year (and even this series win is questionable do to the suspension
    c. the pistons

    imo

I remember that Knick team and while they were good, they were a team full of a couple of good players who rode momentum to get to the finals.......

the nuggets = a good team, but not a championship team

the suns = a championship team

    the jazz = the nuggets</div>

So you are saying to be a Dynasty you have to play Championship teams? The Spurs have played many teams that were hot in the playofs or going into the playoffs, that should be taken into consideration. The record does not matter that much, as the Mavericks and Warriors. The Warriors are defintley not a championship team, if the played the Spurs, they would have given the Spurs some trouble, the Spurs would have eventually won the seriers because of thier depth, coaching, exptionaly players, and well organized basketball.

I could see why you'd say that they are, but to me a "dynasty"

    a. has to repeat at least once
    b. face dynamic competition to reach those titles

I think repeating shows resiliance and it also shows the ability to maintain your title when teams are gunning for you every night.....oh well it's just silly termanology, come thursday the spurs will have title #4 and that's the most important thing (for them at least)

The Cavaliers offense sucked so bad in so may ways yesterday.Gibson didn't do a great job as a starter and they had so may opportunities to make shots when the Spurs offense wasn't working. I do believe the Bowen fooled James and it was a foul.Anybody got a broom?
    Bowen for Finals MVP

Even though the Cavs haven't presented much of a challenge, the Spurs did have a tough road making it into the Finals. They defeated the Suns (yeah I know the suspensions dampened the series), and they beat a tough Utah Jazz team.

Winning titles consecutively is overrated; once the Spurs win their fourth title they'll be fourth on the all-time championship list.

I think it's harder to win say...4 titles over 10 years rather than 2 in a row...if you're winning them consecutively, it's got to be 3 or more (ala Lakers and the Bulls). Winning 4 out of 10 seems a lot harder because players age a lot more than they do in consecutive seasons, they've got to worry about re-signing people, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks the Cavs are simply the most boring team to play ball? I mean, at least the Spurs have some finesse and can play both a halfcourt and fullcourt game. I can't even describe how the Cavs play...its just awful.

Personally, I do find the Cavaliers very boring. I'm so sick of seeing LeBricks' every day dunk, it's old and plain. He jumps high, that's it. Big Z has got to be the most boring player in the league.

Cavaliers are doing their best to play their game against the Spurs colossal defense but San Antonio still has a 5 point lead going into the half. It's the same story as Tuesday, the Spurs are staying just out of the reach of the Cavs.

Anyone other than me notice the clock stopped for 5 or so seconds near the end of the half?

The Spurs are a dynasty because they are 4 for 4 in the Finals. They've beaten the LA Lakers (Kobe, Shaq), Pistons (Beat Kobe Shaq), Suns (most explosive offense in last decade) The Lakers were 3 for 4, being upset.

The Spurs have a Dynasty. They should of won 4 straight. Yeah no joke. They won the title in '03, in '04 they were about to go up 3-1 on the Lakers until Derek Fishers miracle. They won in '05, in '06 they lost in Game 7 in Overtime to the Dallas Mavericks. And they ARE going to win this series. Yeah they haven't repeated but 3 in 5 years doesn't come by very often. And it COULD of been four straight titles. I think Dream is just looking for an arguement.

Dream thinks Olajuwon's Rockets are the best team to ever touch a basketball.

That was a ridiculously easy prediction. I'm sorry, but those Cavs were perhaps the worst team to ever be in the Finals. And anyone who finds the Spurs boring...have you even watched the Cavs? Even Tim Duncan is more flashy than they are.

Oh, and congratulations to the Spurs and thier fans. I was pissed as hell after the Phoenix series, but these Spurs are way too much for any team in the East.

Well, perfect ending to the perfect playoffs in NBA history...

Congrats to the Spurs winning their fourth title to wrap up a dynasty and did they deserve it. I think Mike Breen said it perfectly when we said we are watching one of the best power forwards ever and taking it for granted. Bruce Bowen has done a fantastic job on containing LeBron James in the entire series and the I can't say the Spurs would've been a dynasty without him. Tony Parker has stepped up for the Spurs especially. He took it to the basket and laying it in, and when the Cavs did everything they could to block out the lanes, he took the jumpers and swished it, he definitely the Finals MVP.
