<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Orlando Magic this morning released a statement about the current situation between the team and head coach Billy Donovan, who according to reports now wants to return to the University of Florida. While Central Florida, the Orlando Magic and Billy were energized with the announcement of his contract signing on Friday, we know there was a different feeling in Gainesville and people have been tugging at him since that time. Billy is conflicted with those emotions and the opportunity he has ahead in Orlando and in the NBA. We've had numerous conversations and a personal visit in Gainesville with Billy over the last 48 hours and we have a commitment from him that the dialogue between us will continue.</div> Source
Why on earth don't we come out and officially release him? Are they honestly trying to change his mind? This front office is amazing.
Just release him without a penalty. a) Why would we want an unhappy coach. Why would we keep him when he wants to be in Gainesville when half of our fan base are Gators anyway.

Also I say take every penny we can get from him to make us look sooo bad.

Andy Katz had an interesting theory. He said the press conference scheduling should have been flipped around. The Magic had their's first, and Donovan was emotionally charged to take over. The next day he does the Florida conference and his decision ends on a down note.

The Gators was still fresh on his mind when he went to bed. Not to mention when u think about it, you look back at where you left before you look at your future.
He was in the ESPN.com poll question. "Who has had the hardest time making up there mind" Billy Donovan Roger Clemens Kobe Bryant Brett Favre
