<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The final shot had barely been fired in the second round of the playoffs when general manager John Paxson gave the Bulls' backcourt of Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Chris Duhon and Thabo Sefolosha a vote of confidence.

"I like our guard corps," Paxson said at the time.

But after the Cleveland Cavaliers used their size and strength to neutralize the Detroit Pistons' back line in the Eastern Conference finals, the question is, does Paxson like it as much as he did two weeks ago? Otherwise, does he break up the Gordon-Hinrich tandem this summer?

While Cavaliers supertalent LeBron James was the story of the conference finals, the ability of 6-foot-5, 185-pound Larry Hughes, 6-foot-7, 239-pound Sasha Pavlocic and 6-foot-3, 205-pound Eric Snow to contain Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton was crucial to the outcome.

Earlier in the playoffs, the Bulls had no answer for Billups, whom head coach Scott Skiles called the most valuable player in the series.

Like Bulls forward Luol Deng, Gordon will become a restricted free agent after the 2007-08 season.

"I learned a lot just to play against those guys who are more experienced," Gordon said. "You know, Rip and Chauncey."

Asked what he learned exactly, Gordon said, "I can't explain it. It hasn't sunken in yet. It's being downloaded still."</div>

The Bulls are solid at every position. They're like the pistons, only with less talent. I think the Bulls do need to get more physical big gaurds if they want to compete. They also need to make a trade for an all star that can lead the team. I dont think Gordon, Deng, Heinrich, or Nocioni are going to be all star players, so why not trade one or two of them for a game changing player? The bulls dont need to completely break up their core of young talent, but they definatley need to improve if they want to be championchip contenders.

Gordon in many peoples eyes deserved to be an all star this season, and Deng really turned into a superstar when the playoffs rolled around, so there is no real foundation to say that they won't be all stars in the future. I do agree with you that we should try to get a front tier all star to lead this team, but not at the expense of any combination of Gordon, Deng, or Hinrich. I'm willing to give up one of them if needed (Deng being the one I'm most reluctant too) but nothing more than that. The Pistons are getting older, Miami is old, and I already believe we are better than the Cavaliers. The east is there to be won for this team.

I think we really need to break up the Gordon Hinrich combination. It is not going to work. We need to get a low post player. I'd preferably deal Gordon, unless he learns how to handle, pass and defend. But only for a proven low post player that is.

I think they are all good players, but none are leaders. This team desperately needs a player who will be an extension of Skiles tough mindedness on the court. Their backcourt needs some toughness, swagger, and additude.

By Paul Ladewski Staff writer who is that?

Anyway the Hinrich and Gordon situation 2 me is not that much of a concern as much as what many other teams n this league need. All we need is a post-player such as Collison and if we could get him without losing the pick end of story this team is going 2 the finals.

Im just tired of hearing something new ever other month. Now that the Bulls are in a good position 2 get a post-player now its time 2 trade Gordon when first it was the Bulls need a 20 point scorer and now that we got one its now time to trade him. OOOOOOK...

I'm not at all concerned with the backcourt. The only thing that could hurt us by playing a small backcourt is defense, but since the teams plays great team defense, individual defense becomes less of a concern. I love the trio of Gordon, Hinrich and Deng and I think they could become one of the best trios in the NBA (if not the best) here in a couple years, as long as they stay together. To me, they're the foundation of this team and should be for a long while, and I really don't want to see them broken up.
