Hey everyone. I'm bored at work and all the sonics talk lately hasn't helped but I thought of a 4 team trade. Just wondering what other people thought of it. Chicago Bulls Outgoing: PJ Brown Viktor Khryapa #9 Pick Incoming: Zach Randolph Boston Celtics Outgoing: Theo Ratliff Gerald Green #5 Pick Incoming: Robert Swift PJ Brown Portland Outgoing: Zach Randolph Incoming: Theo Ratlif Gerald Green Earl Watson #5 Pick Seattle Sonics Outgoing: Robert Swift Earl Watson Incoming: Viktor Khryapa #9 Pick Like I said, I'm not even sure if the contracts work but this came up from a few rumors that have been floating around. Last year, Ainge offered their 1st round and either green or d. west for swift. this year the rumor is ainge still wants a sonics big man and is willing to trade the 1st rounder. chicago was rumored to be looking at zach and be willing to part with their 1st rounder if seattle gets boston's 5th overall they can swap with portland if they get chicago's 9 so that the blazers can get connley and keep him with oden. I know this doesn't make pierce happy but if the rumor above is true then he wouldn't be happy anyway
Couple observations I have about this trade: While portland does land that heralded second lottery pick, They're giving up Zbo AND taking on another huge contract to get it. Is that worth it to them? Also, Boston doesn't get much out of that deal. At all. They get cap space and thats it. They are also giving up a player who 2 years ago (was it 1 or 2) fell into their lap during the draft. As for the sonics, they look to break even. Honestly, the only teams I see actually benefitting from this trade are Chicago and Portland, and Portland is paying an awfully steep price (star player and increased payroll) for the number 5 pick. Watson isn't a starting PG and they already have their guys at that position, Jack and Rodriguez. What did you see as selling points for the teams involved in this trade because at first glance it doesn't look like anyone of them besides Chicago would pull the trigger.

What did you see as selling points for the teams involved in this trade because at first glance it doesn't look like anyone of them besides Chicago would pull the trigger.</div> well like i said, i was just bored at work but i kind of just took the rumor of boston wanting to trade the 5th pick for swift and ran with it. in my trade boston gave up what they were giving up in the rumor along with getting rid of ratliff. swift actually didn't fall into their lap cuz the sonics picked right before them. for portland it just seems like they're really hell bent on getting another lottery pick in hopes of grabbing conlley and making oden happy. ratliff only has 1 year left on his contract too compared to randolph's 4. chicago as you said makes out the best because they get their low post scorer and the sonics do appear to just break even but for them i just liked the lottery pick cuz of the possibility of grabbing critenton to be able to put a bigger point guard out on the floor with him or go faster with luke. plus big man log jam (swift, sene, petro, collison, wilcox) is lessened a little. in this scenario i'm thinking the sonics end up with durant and are still resigning lewis like they say, so one of them will be at the pf position and IMO collison and wilcox would get most of the time at the C and the backup PF. *edit: ok, what if chicago had to send nocioni to boston too? As a Sonic fan giving up our best point guard and our best center for the 9th pick and a fringe NBA player doesn't exactly excite me. Robert Swift is the wild card for our team and I do not think that he is going to be included in any trades until the organization feels as if he will not reach the level of expectation that they have for him. This is a huge year for him and I do not think that Sonics fans would like to see him develop on another roster.
Here's one I read in The Oregonian this morning (readers were polled as to who the Blazer's should take, Oden or Durant): 'Why choose? Let's get both by trading Randolph and Miles for Seattle's #2 pick'
