Since I'm not a Mavs fan, I guess I'm not either bummed or pumped... I do think that Harris' success is his quickness, and his contrast of style when he takes over for a Terry or a Stackhouse. At 40 minutes a game, I think his shortcomings are going to be very, very exploitable.
Harris has a ton of potential. He's a hustle player who can contribute on both ends of the floor. I think that it's time Harris took the bigger role over Jason Terry in Dallas's backcourt. Harris has the potential to be an all-star later down the road, although I doubt he'll be getting 40 min. a game starting next year I do believe he'll be getting good starter minutes (34-36 minutes).
Who doesn't' want playing time.His a good player with a lot of potential who plays great defense and also offense.I hope he does get more playing time because he could really help out Dallas. I do think he is going to get the Starting Position.
Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see anything special about this guy. He's not a great shooter, he's very quick, but he's also predictable on his drives, he's very well known for only being comfortable driving one side (can't remember if it's left or right). He's also an undersized shooting guard, but doesn't have point guard skills. It's a scouting report similar to what you might draw up about Monta Ellis, except Ellis seems like has a higher ceiling than Harris, and is a few years younger. Basically, the Mavericks got out-toughed by the Warriors, both because Dirk couldn't stand up to Jack, but also because the Mavs can't deal with big, physical guards. Harris, slight as he is, isn't the answer there. If I were looking to improve Dallas and reload for another run at a title, I wouldn't do anything major, but some small moves could make a world of difference. For instance, I'd try to trade for an experienced guard who's a truer leader than Terry (Antonio Daniels springs to mind).
dude what are you talkin about? Devin Harris doesnt play shooting guard usually. He's a true point guard that can penetrate the lane dish the ball and play solid defense. All though he makes silly mistakes somtimes in crucial minutes, hes proved himself in past playoffs and did well this season. And why get rid of Jason Terry? He's one of the most clutch players in the league right now and more of a shooting guard(like when he was in ATL) then a passer. I love how everyone thinks the Mavs need to change their lineup so much just because they lost to Golden State. I mean correct me if im wrong....but they did have the best regular season record right? now do they need to make some changes, probably but nothing major liek you said. Antonio Daniels or something would be nice but i just dont feel hes the same value as Jason Terry.
