<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'>Maybe he is rubbing off on me, I honestly do believe is was a Pre-meditated plan, Cowher KNEW how much trouble Carson could give that 1 man secondary and their Defensive Coordinator Knew exactly what they were dealing with if Carson was put out, Kitna a solid QB who lacks the arm strength to threaten with the deep ball, thus allowing them to bring guys up into the box and pressure Kitna knowing the deep ball was gone. Dick LeBeau, Bill Cowher, and KImo Von Olehoffon all 3 played a part in it.</div>
That's all circumstancial. So it was a situation where Carson Palmer getting hurt would greatly increase Pittsburg's chances of winning... You could say that about any injury to a impact player. Really, you could say that about any late hit. In all honesty though, there's alot of players who want to hurt someone every week, I mean how many linebackers out there take pride in getting the big hit on the reciever when they go across the middle? Now if they broke a WR's neck would you call them a bad player?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CanadianFavreFan)</div><div class='quotemain'>I got no bias to any of these teams but I wouldn't forget the Ravens this year. The division will be a lot harder. Even Cleveland could be hard two sweep</div>
I like Baltimore to win the divsion. I picked Pittsburgh as a wild card and I think Cincy is going to go 9-7 and miss the playoffs. Mainly because Palmer will be rusty from a lot of missed time this off season. Hasn't been in a game situation yet. Plus all the distraction and I'm not talking about Johnson either. I think Cincy takes a small step back and Baltimore wins the divsion.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (manofsteel)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Steelers expected Kimo to be leaving, they had no intention of even offering him a deal. They signed Brett Keisel to a long term deal because they didnt want to keep Kimo. Not sure who Keisel is? ask Denver....he had 4 tackles, back to back sacks and a forced fumble in a part time AFC Championship game performance.</div>
Kimo is a cheap shot artist and nothing more, Brady, C-Pepp, and Losman had better watch them selves this year, The Ball game would have Been COMPLETELY different had Cowher and KImo not arranged the blow to the knee of Carson Palmer.</div>
Not even sure I should respond to an insane conspiracy theory like this one, but I cannot resist. If you watched the play Kimo was blocked to the ground towards Palmer and Palmer still had the ball in his hand when Kimo hit him. There was no flag for late hit or unsportsmanlike. Why don't you tell me how you are so sure how different the game would have been had Palmer not gotten hurt??? Did you see either of the other two games between the Bengals and the Steelers earlier that year? first game the Steelers won and Palmer had 216 yards and 2 picks.....second game Ben had 375 yards and the Steelers came up just one score short. I know you're jealous and hate that your team sucks now and for years to come but come on dude...a conspiracy theory? why not go after Manning? the Colts were a much scarier offense than the Bengals

Im not crowning them with anything...I simply said they are a better team this

Your thread title & giddy optimism imply otherwise.
I think you are going to see Staley running with a chip on his shoulder come opening day.
I'd rather see DS w/ shoulder pads. B-roth can wear a helmet if he wants. JT, Carter, & Crowder are gonna smack the taste off his lips regardless LOL.
And what did you see from Wright against they first team defense? a few incompletions and a couple sacks..... I really don't think it will come to that either way. I think it will be Palmer on opening day even if it is not at 100%
Last time, I checked the Redskins D could bring it and AW held up fairly well. I suggested that A Wright would be an adequate caretaker until Carson returns.
They signed Brett Keisel to a long term deal because they didnt want to keep Kimo. Not sure who Keisel is?
BK is from Wyoming and played collegiately @ BYU. He is a cousin to my Aunt's (my Dad's sister's) ex-husband. He and Shaun Nua (also from BYU - I think?) will work as duo to replace Kimo Von O as I understand it. KVO left of his own free will for more $ w/ the jets. I'm sure the Steelers would have kept him if the circumstances were right.
I know exactly who Keisel is, it was just an expression. If you are going to quote me you should really use my entire thought on a particular subject rather than taking me out of context. and like I said before, the Steelers had no intention of even offering Kimo a new contract, they signed Keisel to a long term deal to replace Kimo. He has received more and more playing time including a significant performance in the AFC championhsip Game and Super Bowl. Keisel is the starter hands down. I dont know where you are hearing he will only be part time.

You are basing your opinion on Wright's performance in the first preseason game against the 1st and 2nd string Washington defense rather than the awful job he did last year in the regular season as a starter for Baltimore. Do I really need to tell you how clueless that makes you look?

I saw both Bengals/Steelers games, Big Ben Also had like 3 INt's the 2nd game forgot about that didn't ya? With Carson in the game he added a whole different aspect the DEEP Ball, Kitna is not a Deep passer, Kitna is a solid QB, but Dick LeBeau knew him inside and out, Carson's first Pass Was a 65 Yard BomB! Tell me the threat of that all game would not have made it an entirely different game, without at that they were able to stack the box and concentrate on shutting down Rudi. The Steelers may have come one score short but the Bengals clearly man handled them in the 2nd game much like the Steelers did to them the first game. Manning wasn't Grabbed and twisted into an injury as this picture shows

    http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2006/scorecard/01/13...arsonpalmer.jpg

HE GRABBED AND PUSHED HIS WEIGHT INTO THE KNEE! tell me thats not a dirty hit, I believe thye actually facillitated a Rule change because of this incident.

Yes Im jealous because my team has had 1 losing year in the last 15 years, gimme a break.

I gotta tell you ...you are in for quite a few more losing season. Still frame picture...incriminating. Watch the play...he was around his legs when he was about to throw the ball. What would you have done? Just look up and watch him throw the ball? He was blocked into the ground at Palmers feet...Ben was out last season as a result of a similar hit. It was a common problem throughout the league. Linemen blocked in to the ground with nothing left to do but grab low, thats why they changed the rule. You have any other conspiracy theories? I would love to hear them.

But look exactly what he had in Baltimore too though, not much outside of Derrick mason and Todd Heap, and Lewis and Taylor didn't exactly strike fear into opposing Run Defenses last year. Cincy has an elite Offensive line(even though they have a drunk boat captain manning left gaurd lol) . Plus he has Rudi Johnson, Chad Johnson, T.J. Housmanzadeah, Chris Perry, and mr. Arrest himself Chris Henry. Thats is a lot more talent around him than in Baltimore. I mean the Bengals were ready to go with Craig Krenzel(My boy) as their starter until he was hurt in a mini camp, wright is mobile and has a good arm, however he is definatly not the guy i'd want behind center with the game on the line.

Look at the Bengals schedule to start the year....Wright will not win any of those games for them, even with the talent around him.

Yeah and I still saw him WRAP and PUSH, thats were my Theory comes from. He was blocked into the ground yes but the way he Pushed all his weight into Carson's knee is what developed the whole thing for me. We'll just have to see how the Packers do in the rest of TT era, im an optimist but with that Shakey O-line perfomance we could be in trouble, however im still picking us to win the Division! as shown by me signing up for the NFC North Avatar Bet.

He was trying to tackle him, what should he have done? tickle his foot? I give up on you dude, conspiracy theorists can't be rationed with. All I know is that the Packers are going to have to take out quite a few QBs to smell the playoffs this year.

The Steelers won't have to worry about another Super Bowl this year. The Patriots will take care of them like they have in the past if the Steelers even get that far. The Patriots will be very strong in '06. Don't underestimate them, especially with all of the disrespect they've been getting lately. A lot of people even pick Miami to win the AFC East this year. All because of losing a kicker, lol. They fail to even recognize the explosive additions to the offense this off season. Oh well, I'm sure you guys will gang up on me here and tell me the Pats are done and that I'm retarded but we'll see how it goes.

Enlighten me, since I generally don't follow the Patriots. I'm guessing Lawrence Maroney is one of those guys... Who's the Gator?

Chad Jackson the fastest man at the combine. He's not healthy at the moment, but we expect him to fill the loss of Givens.

It sure doesn't like you know who Keisel is, junior. Further, I all but said I wasn't sure exactly how the Steelers DL is going to look.

I theorized, speculated, etc... that A Wright would be okay. Washington 1st string D was pretty good last year. Open you eyes and look it up!

I see its okay for you to rant on with the pro-steelers rhetotic to the point of ridiculous homerism but my theories and opinion (they are stated as such) make me look foolish IYO?

Think very carefully about getting into a war of words w/ me. I let it slide this time as that terrible towel you are wearing is obviously wrapped too tight and affecting your circulation and cognitive process.
