I would agree, but many of the songs he sings are in Hopelandic, so there is no translation to many of the tracks. For instance the entire album "()" has no translation because the entire thing is sung in Hopelandic. So it really is just vocal notes to the music. Plus, you don't have to know all the songs. Those three in particular are some of my favorite lyrics from the band. Although, the best lyrics are on the first major album. No worries man, I know you're not knocking them at all. Speaking of bands that just grab your heart and wrench it, Leslie West of Mountain is on the Howard Stern Show this morning. This is why I listen to that show. I can't stand Howard Stern himself. He thinks he knows something about everything, but I'm finding out he knows nothing about anything. So now I just listen to it for the prank phone calls (yeah, it's childish, but they still get me), and the interviews. He gets celebrities like Leslie West to open up like they wouldn't on other shows. Mountain and Leslie West are largely unknown. I just talked to my brother, who is a huge classic rock fan and a much better musician than I'll ever be (he's a guitar player of 10+ years), and he's never even heard much of these guys outside of a song or two. They never really sold anything, in comparison to their peers, but they have a real cult following. The thing about them is that Felix Pappalardi, the bassist, songwriter, and one of the vocalists for the band, is a classically trained musician, who studied classic music at the University of Michigan. He also produced Cream's classic album, Disraeli Gears. He actually wrote a few of the songs on the album too, as well as producing them. So because of having an experienced, versatile talent like him in the band, they have a unique, almost orchestral sound to their music. Their most famous moment was probably at Woodstock. To this day, most people who were there say they were one of the highlights, along with Ten Years After and Jimi Hendrix. To make a long story short, they played a clip of the song "Nantucket Sleighride," and it really made my eyes water. That song is so amazingly beautiful, and I strongly recommend it to anyone into classic rock music. I've never been able to find a good YouTube version of it, otherwise I would have posted it in the Recommendations Game thread a long time ago. If it weren't for my dad, I probably would have never found out about those guys. He's a former hippie (straight out of Haight-Ashbury), so if he's good for one thing, it's for educating me about the music of the 1960's. He actually let me find my own way into classic rock though, up until adolesence when I started to talk to him more and more about rock music, and I'm thankful for that, because it's more personal for me now and not something I feel was forced onto me by my parents.
Get Fuzzy, Sherman's Lagoon, and For Better or For Worse are really the only comics I pay attention to these days. I haven't had much time to read them lately though, because I'm always late for work. M, I didn't see the goal by Blanco but its good to hear he's living up to the hype. I'll admit I was kind of skeptical, especially after how Amado Guevara's bombed in the MLS (apparently TFC was real close to trading for him.... dodged a bullet there). Toronto's playing you guys on the 29th, so I'm looking forward to seeing him play. It should be a good match, because it sounds like you're teams got more firepower now and TFC's finally got a roster that's gelling together (plus our youngsters are coming back from the U20's). Voodoo, I'm gonna follow up on that recommendation. I loved Ten Years After and, in general, I really enjoy classic rock from that era.

Reminds me of Venus when you put that the bassist is classically tuned. Marc, Christian and Pierre are the same way. Of course, not of the same sound or genre. You know what I mean though.
Man, I forgot how funny "There's Something About Mary" is. I watched it the other day and I was cracking up the entire time. Easily one of my favourite comedy movies. The Farrelly Brothers are just plain awesome.

Digg.com was a great idea. Take news from all the different sources and let the people vote on what's important regardless of which stories newspapers actually run. Well it kind of ruins it all when someone can just make a story that says something like "Bush Passes Law That Makes It Illegal Not To Be Christian" and then you look at the story and it's some kind of foreign website talking about something that happened five years ago where Bush just mentions that he doesn't like people who aren't Christian. But instead of actually CLICKING the link and determining that the story is bullshit, everyone just gives it THOUSANDS OF DIGGS because it fits into their Ritalin-addled, agenda-laden fantasy world in which "we really are like, totally in 1984, duuude." Haven't these people ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? Don't they see that they're taking a resource that was shaping up to be an amazing watchdog entity and just shitting all the **** over it with their support of blatantly untrue propaganda?
