Kobe's one of the most marketable players in the league. I think it boils down to ownership...and in this case, the owners care more about "Kobe The Scoring Phenom" selling out seats and getting TV contracts (although barely making the playoffs every year) than trying to put a better ball team on the court.

What they fail to realize is that if you start winning games, the fans will obviously come. I wish every GM in the league was like Colangelo; GM's should take calculated risks once in a while instead of holding on to something they see "potential" in. What the hell is potential in the NBA? Unless you're a can't miss prospect, potential comes and goes. There's plenty of guys who have "potential" every year. ****, even guys like Darius Miles were labeled to have "potential". The funny thing is, I bet you anything if Miles had been hypothetically drafted at #10 by the Lakers in 2005 and he was Bynum's age, he would have been labeled the next big thing as well in L.A because they saw so much "potential" oozing out of him. Bynum's potential is apperently so gigantic that it was not worth getting a future hall-of-famer in Jason Kidd for him. Kidd is STILL at the top of his game and would have helped the Lakers 5987409874509834759347593487 times than Bynum EVER will.

Honestly, good luck with the Bynum project. I'm still going to be pissed about keeping Bynum, even if he moves up his stats every year. I don't see him being anything more than a bench player or someone like Jamaal Magloire (at best). He doesn't have that "superstar" factor to him, atleast in my opinion.

Oh and the Lakers are NOT making the playoffs next year. Maybe an 8th seed (and even that seems farfetched with the increase in strength of the other Western teams), but what the hell is that gonna do? That team is just weak and getting weaker every year.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, well I went and saw the dermatologist, and he perscribed it for me.

I have had a acne since I was like 14 years old (so about 6 years now), it was worse back then, but I only had it on my face, now over the last year or so, I've started getting it on my back and chest now too. It's not bad on my face, these days I only get like 1-2 pimples flare up then and again, but it's still there, it just wont leave, so I'm guessing that is why he perscribed it for me.
    </div>

Haha, I started getting it around 14 too. My face is pretty clear nowadays, but I remember my first day in highschool (I started getting them over the summer of when I was 14), it was a mess because I had no clue how to take care of my skin. ****, I used to be so ignorant towards the whole cleanliness thing that I would run around playing basketball for a couple of hours and not even really wash my face afterwards. Man, if there's anything more frustrating than having to have dealt with consistent acne, I'd like to know what it is.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I've tried everything else under the sun to cure acne, clearasil, proactiv, disinfectant, every single line of face wash you can imagine, benzal peroxide, eating nothing but healthy food etc. etc. none of it has worked, so this has sort of fallen as a last resort I guess, which my doctor told me, if the last batch of antibiotics he perscribed wernt doing the job, then to book me into to see the dermatologist to get me put on roaccutane. </div>

I know it's too late now, but you should try an antibiotic mixed with benzoyl peroxide. It works because topical antibiotics clear up almost everyone but eventually you get immune to them. However, when the antibiotic is mixed with the BP, this doesn't happen.

Either way, best of luck to you once again.

Anyway, Brian, I replied to your post in the Lakers forum.

I hate going into the Lakers forum, because you can't say things that the rest of the league holds as obvious truths without getting into an argument about them.

By that I mean, you make your normal length post, except somewhere within it you make the statement that Bynum is a role player. In most team forums, that'd be accepted as the truth, agreed upon, and nobody would want to get into a big debate about it. In the Lakers forum though, be prepared to take that one side comment and waste more than an hour of your day arguing about it, even though it's something that all non-Laker fans see as blatantly obvious.

Voodoo, sorry if I took offense and started a big arguement out of nothing [IMG] I just didn't like how you compared Andrew Bynum to Amir Johnson, who basically sat on the bench the entire season. As for Gerald Green, I never knew he went on such a scoring binge at the end of the season. I just looked up Green's stats and he averaged about 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist last season. Then I looked up Bynum's stats last season, and he averaged about 8 points, 7 boards, and 1 assist last season, to go along with 1.5 blocks per game. So naturally, based just on stats, Bynum had a better season, since the only category Green beat him in was scoring, and it was only a 2 point difference.

Anyways, I'm planning on seeing the Simpsons movie tonight or tomorrow night, so that should be pretty cool

    'sall good.

Amir Johnson got like a 3 year $11 million dollar deal from not playing though, so someone sees something in him. (I don't get it personally.)

Simpsons movie is great, but it's probably not as good as it could have been. The TV show is great.

It's hot as hell down here. I went outside for about 15 minutes (actually like an hour now that I see the time... time flies...) to just play some horse with my bro and I had to come in because I couldn't take the heat.

The PETA thing is disappointing, but slightly forgiveable. Most people are ignorant of their b.s. (including me, until about a week ago). Also, there are certain PETA initiatives that I do support, even though I find the organization, as a whole, ridiculous.

The Duke lacrosse thing annoys the hell out of me, though. Those kids got crucified from the start for no good reason. Common just jumped on the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton bandwagon.</div>

[IMG] Trust me, if there's one thing I find annoying about these forums, it's those Laker fans who think they can get land a major superstar with thier current roster (while NOT trading for Kobe), or the fans that completely ignore what everyone else says and see something in thier own team that no other fan of the NBA sees. I love how that one guy called this season's Lakers team "scary".

Yes, with the addition of Derek Fisher, the Lakers will be champions. In fact, maybe he's the last peice needed to make a Garnett trade. Who wouldn't want a Fisher + Bynum + Kwame deal?

I think the only thing that's scary in all this is that one of the greatest players of today's generation is having his prime wasted.
