Believe me, Favre's trophy from ten years ago doesn't burst my bubble in the least. In fact, I really couldn't care less about Green Bay. There may not be a less significant team in the NFL this year.
49ers, Raiders, Jets, your 2nd favorite team in Detroit, Tennessee.

12 NFL Titles is more than any team too ever play the game. Including 3 in a row in the 30's and 3 in a row in the 60's. Only team to do that and they did it twice.

How many registered user names do you have? Do you have a split personality or something. Is John a die hard Steeler fan. Bob being that Lion fan. I'm guessing Steve is got to be a Bengal fan. Or maybe a Seattle fan.
The Packers DO NOT have 12 NFL titles, there was no true NFL title until Super Bowl 1. C'mon dude you should know this. How can you compare championship stats from a league championship that no longer exists? NOBODY has more super bowl victories than the Steelers. If we are going to compare stats lets compare them from the time period in which you had to play EVERY team around the country. And yes you may have some competition for least significant team in the league this year, but rest assured you will be in the running. This year you are not in the same class of talent as Pittsburgh you have to know that right? Lastly, why do I have to be a Detroit fan to think that they will be better than the Packers this year? There are alot of people out there who will agree with me, Lions fans or not. You know, I actually know what its like. I suffered through the 90's Steelers with Mark Malone and Bubby Brister. The difference between you and I is that I was never dillusional I wouldn't have told you how Malone was going to beat up the Packers if only they played this year. I actually do wish The Steelers played the Packers this year, with our schedule we could really use an easy win..
The NFL goes way back to the 1920's I believe. Every Title counts. 12 NFL Titles is what it says in the record book. Should we not have any players from those era's in the Hall of Fame then? What did they play for if not for a Title. Just did it for kicks and cash I guess. There has always been an NFL Championship game. Green Bay has won 12. I believe Chicago is close behind. That's why it's the most storied rivary in sports. That's why Green Bay is nicknamed "Title Town" Pittsburgh has 5 Super Bowls. Tied with San Francisco. I'll give them that. They're a great Franchise but in terms of History. Green Bay and Chicago are the 2 most storied franchises in professional football. I don't think any true football junkie would argue that.

How is saying GB will go 7-9 this year because they are better and healthy dillusional? What is wrong in saying a team that went 4-12 last year, will beat a team that went 5-11 and is on the verge of cutting 2 1st round Draft picks?

You have the Lions picked for the playoffs. You believe they're make it as a wild card or win the divsion. That's a stated quote from yourself. I'm guessing Bob said that one... Other than non Lions fans, most think Detroit will stink as well going 6 or 7 wins. That's where most have Green Bay pegged for this year. The Packers might only win 6 or 7 games but in the end Detroit will be right along side of them this year. The only difference is Detroit will always be an embarassing team where as Green Bay will always be Title Town.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>Watching a Steelers fan argue with a Packers fan is somehow not very satisfying. It's a shame we don't play the Steelers this year. It would be fun to watch Favre dismantle that vaunted defense and send Roethlisberger home crying to his mommy.</div>
    That's Dillusional........

12 championships when there were 10 teams or even less, I mean when do you start counting? when there were a handful of traveling teams? The Super Bowl era is the NFL. when it was truly a national sport with an incredible amount of competition. The only true comparison of franchises is during the super bowl era......
I still dont get why I have to be a Lions fan to think they will make the playoffs. Thats my opinion, you dont have an opinion on anyone but the Packers?

    Every league has a beginning...

I'm not saying the best football isn't in the Super Bowl era. I'm just saying Green Bay has won 12 NFL Titles and that certainly counts.

    http://www.football.com/history/index.shtml

Green Bay started playing in 1921. They joined along with 8 other teams. The league expanded from 10 to 18 as seen above.

By 1922 it got up to 22 NFL Teams. Green Bay won it's first title I believe in 1929. So there was well over 20 teams in the NFL at that time.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I still dont get why I have to be a Lions fan to think they will make the playoffs. Thats my opinion, you dont have an opinion on anyone but the Packers?</div>
WOW, uhm I think everyone on this forum knows I give my opinion on just about anything and just about everything. I'm one of the many posters on this forum that posts just about everywhere on the site. Whether I give my views on the Broncos, Steelers, Patroits, Vikings, Bears, Lions, 49ers or whether I give my views on Ricky Williams, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens or on the CBA or on the NFL Draft or on NFL Free Agency or College Football. So maybe you should uhm "think" before you post a comment like that. :stupid:

A comment where you haven't been around long enough to say that. That would of been like myself saying Dale only talks about the Dolphins when I first joined while he's been posting rants on Mike Vick.:listening:

Actually, the only true comparison of franchises should be during the Salary Cap era and Free Agent era. Before the salary cap and free agency, there were dynasties and no way for other teams to compete or turn themselves around quickly.

So, if you go by that comparison, the Packers and the Steelers have the two best records in the NFL since 1992 and both teams have appeared in two Superbowls, winning one and losing one.

Cowboys are the best team of this era, sadly enough.

I actually think Denver is the best. Dallas and New England run neck and neck for #2 and #3. Though New England might not be done.

If you go back to the AFL/NFL merger, the teams w/ the 2 best records are; Oakland and Miami oe vice versa.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree, I don't see how you can compare super bowl titles to titles that were awarded in different league before the merger, before there was even a super bowl. Green Bay was by far the best franchise of the pre-superbowl era. I will have to give you that. But, since the merger, since the competition in the league drastically increased, Nobody has won more titles than Pittsburgh. So, post-superbowl...the Packers don't compare. That is a simple fact.

Can anyone help me out with this one? You do realize that "you don't have an opinion on anyone but the Packers?" was a rhetorical question right? You do know what a rhetorical question is?
Obviously I don't think you are so narrow minded that you only have an opinion on your home team. By saying that I was pointing out how ridiculous it was for you to claim that I was a Lions fan simply because I think they will have some success this year. I actually can't believe I have to walk you through this ....
If you are a man who has so many different, significant opinions on so many different teams and players throughout the NFL and college, then why would you try to label me a Lions fan or a Bengals fan or a Seahawks fan just because I have an opinion that you don't agree with. You really aren't making any sense here.

If you think the Lions are going to be successful this year, I don't really think you're capable of walking anyone through anything. That's just madness talking there... [IMG]

    Yes. They are.

Instead of best records, I should've said Oakland and Miami or vice versa have the best winning percentages

Might as well name them all as SF also has 5. I was actually happy to see the Steelers win this won cause I couldn't handle Cohwer having to endure another choke job
