Re: Random Thought Thread I'm back home for the weekend...it feels really wierd because I'm used to seeing 50 people at a given time just walking by me every second of every day, andnow I'm at home where it's just my family and I. The shitty thing is that I have a wedding to go to tommorow and a shitload of readings to finish by Monday. Today is almost done, so instead of chilling with my family or goinout with friends,I'm spending my friday night reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for English lol. I'm skipping the actual wedding ceremony to catch up on my other readings, but I do plan to go to the reception. God, I can't wait for that. I'll have to spend all of Sunday reading as well....I'm actually pretty behind.</p> </p>
Re: Random Thought Thread Man, what a night I had last night. Went out to see some of my favourite hard dance DJ's play who are over from Europe (Public Domain, Mark Sherry, Scot Project) last night, I missed them all though, lmao. Was in the upstairs dance floor for basically the whole night, which was playing more electro house type ish', and I was rolling atthe time I went down to hear Scot Project, the transition to the harder stuff was just too much for me to handle at the time so I went back up stairs lol. Got my mack on, danced with like 5-6 different chicks, alot of dirty dancing going on hahaha. Some dickhead pushed my friend(who is a girl) on the dancefloor, so she pushed him back, then he had a go at her boyfriend, so I stepped in and was about tohit the guy, then he walked off and into some other guy, and tried to start him too, the other guy had like 3 mates with him though, lol. He had the drunk guy by the neck, then I walked up to him and got in his face too, then told his mates what he just did to my friends. Was so tempted to punch the f*** out of this wanker, but I didnt want to jeopardize my night because of some stupid drunk f***wit, so I pulled a 50 Cent went and snitched to the security guard, lmao, got the guy kicked out the club hahaha.

In my case, it's all been dumbfuck brown guys who are drunk to the extent that they use it as a means of starting shit with random people. I was dancing around this one girl yesterday and this next guy (bigger than me, with 2 other friends) comes and he's like "yo I'm gonna dance with her, back off"and nudges me, so I don't move and stay there and he's with his boys tellin me he's gonna punch me or something. I was like okay I'd love to see that, but nothing happened in the end cause the girl went off somewhere else. One of my friends I usually chill with has a familydoesn't mind fighting and had he saw that, he would have jumped in for sure, but I'm glad it didn't escalate.I'm a fairly small guy tho (5'9ish) so I'm obviously not the type to try and start shit with people, but I also don't just walk away when people say shit, so it's kind of annoying. Last week this guy pushed me because his girl was flirting with me...I was smashed then and he was piss drunk so I just let that one go because I'd have done the same thing in his position.</p>
Re: Random Thought Thread Yeah man, I hate idiots like that who cant handle their alcohol. I dont understand how people can get that aggressive when drinking, I usually consume anywhere between 16-19 drinks in a night (Vodka Redbull, Jeagerbombs and Absinth) among other things, and never get the urge to randomly want to start a fight. Even at that stage of intoxication, I still have enough sense to know whats right and whats wrong, although I never get REALLY wasted, have a very high substance tolerance lol. I felt kind of bad for my own sake, that I snitched on the guy, but I know at the end of the day I did the right thing, because it was pretty early in the night still, and if I had of punched him, I would've got kicked out aswell, so my night would've been ruined because of some douchebag. If he had of thrown a punch at my mate, then I would've smashed him, but he didnt, so no need to escalate it I guess. I'm justlucky in that I know how to throw a proper punch (6 years experience working over the heavy bag and MMA enthusiast, lmao), hahaha, most guys these days dont. </p>

Re: Random Thought Thread Yeah, I figured they just wanna "dance the stress away" as Cook would say, but still, it's annoying. Last week I was dancing with some chick who danced with me for 3/4 of a song and than was like "oh shit, I have a boyfriend" and walked off lol. It was hilarious, but that kinda shit is just wierd. If you have a boyfriend, either dance with your b/f or make it obvious that you're taken. A simple "no" would be great.</p> A couple of random thoughts. Now that I'm back home, I'm downloading songs like CRAZY. We can't download shit off things like limewire at the campus cause if they book you, you lose your internet or w.e, so it's not worth the risk. My rez internet dude told me to download DC++ but I don't feel like doing that, so I'll just download a shit load of songs when I come home, which is what I'm doing right now. Man, I was just sitting reading Frankenstein for most of the day today. Tommorow I'll tackle the chapter readings for my other courses but Frankenstein is a great book. I read it in grade 11 as well, but I love the story as a whole. Totally different from the perception of Frankenstein that is known in general to those who haven't read the book.</p> There's going to be a week dedicated to just Catcher In The Rye sometime in November I think...I can't wait for that. The wierd part is I actually read that book when I was 12 years old for some reason, and liked it, although I'm quite confident I didn't really grasp it as well as I would now.As far as downloading music goes, it's wierd how my taste has changed over time. I used to HATE, I mean absolutely HATE club (rap/r&B)music before cause I found it "lyrically stupid" (no shit), but now I'll get a club song strictly for the beat. On top of that, my roomate is a pure club guy and he listens to all the songs with nice beats so I'm starting to adapt to his songs as well. I also downloaded some songs off Graduation, and Champion, Flashing Lights, Drunk & Hot Girls (I love it! lol) and Homecoming are my favourites, on top of the obvious two (CTMN and Stronger). I esepcially love Homecoming for some reason. This is completely different from the above part of my post, but to those of you who are/were in University, would you say your first year is the most difficult one due to the adaptation factor, or would you say it's easier?</p>

Re: Random Thought Thread By the way, Freshman year was definitely the hardest to adapt to, I never studies in high school and pulled out a 3.9 GPA, now I have to study my ass off in College, a total change. The lower level 100-200 classes seem harder to me than the 300-400 level classes because the lower level classes had more busy work. What university do you go to if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Random Thought Thread lol. I usually play at Hart House on the UofT campus. It's close by and I can fit in a couple hours between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Maybe I'll come down one day when I actually get good again (I just started playing this week after like a year off and I'm soo rusty). Btw, I also gotta thank Judaism for giving me a Friday off. My prof cancelled class because she celebrated Rosh Hoshana. I saw a subway train decked out in ads for the new Raptors season and it just got me amped. I was just sitting down on the bench when a big picture of Bargnani slides by. And inside they had all these cool action shots with inspirational slogans. MLSE really seems to have focused on the Raps now that they've got the entire city optimistic again. "21st Century Schizoid Man" is an awesome workout song. Especially the middle part. I find awkward brown dudes that try to hit on girls for the first time in university to be the funniest thing. I know I'm an ass for laughing at other people like that, but they remind me of the Pepe LePeu episodes from Looney Tunes. The girl'd be desperately trying to escape like the cat who accidentally spilled paint over itself, but the awkward brown dude won't get the hint and'll keep spouting ridiculously lame pickup lines.
