Its a mark to display proudly, especially if other guys know which girl gave it to you (obviously, if its some trailer park ho, thats not a good thing then, but if its a cute girl or a hottie or whatever, its fine).</p> And the freshman this year are horrible. Some of them are pussys, since we play the shoulder check freshman game everyday, and none of them do anything. One said "what the F!", and walked away. Then you have the other freshman, only in my gym class I've seen it so far, that are always verbally "fighting" the seniors. But they won't get into any actual fights you know. What are they going to do? They're like 5'-5'6" for the most part, with undeveloped muscles. They come off looking horrible when they get their ass kicked.</p>

Re: Random Thought Thread It's not that Bio's tough, it's her crappy approach to teaching. She seems pretty cool in real life, but all she does is throw notes on the overhead, and we copy them. Hardly an discussions. No labs yet. She also whispers, and I've done a few stupid things (forget homework, forget to print some parts of an internet page).</p> </p> By the way, it's honors, and I'm taking honors Algebra 2 (easy), honors English (middle) andhonors World Civ 2 (Hardest teacher in the school, but really fun). This is as a freshmen. I'm not used to the workload. I'll be adjusted by second marking period.</p>

As for showing it off, I don't even wanna show it to other people, I've been wearing a zip up Nike jacket the whole day today, even at my rez, which didn't really help because everyone on my floor knows I got the hickey anyway. If I wanted to "show off", I'd walk around without that jacket (which somewhat covers it up). It's embarrasing to walk around with a hickey this size though, and it looks gross.</p> </p> One of the tricks online was to take the eraser tip from a pencil and rub the hickey back and forth with it. I did it for like 20 minutes on one of the hickeys and it really seemed to help. It's just like a smear of red/somewhat purple on one side now while the other side is ridiculously purple, but I have 8 days to fix it before my parents come down (or I go home for thanksgiving).</p>

On the one hand I love the socializing, freedom, etc, but once you get a taste of something, it's kind of hard to let it go. It's so easy to forget your purpose in this place, and that's exactly what seems to be happening to me. I'm not an organized person by nature so it's catching up to me. I feel as if I'm pretty much accomplishing nothing on an educational level, and it's as if this place is just a basis for me to increase my social life, which I hate. One of my friends was drunk yesterday and had sex with a random guy, andI woke up this morning with this embarrasing and massive hickey and we both talked to each other and it just kind of hit us that we're being idiots. This entire month has been like an extended party, and school's just seemed like a secondary thing, which is exactly what I feared would happen. I'm doing exactly what I promised my parents I wouldn't, and I feel guilty as fuck about it. This isn't what I came for.</p> I'm more worriedfor my roomate though. We're really tight, but dude NEVER, ever studies anything, and skips most of his classes. Even today he went down to another University to party and stuff when he JUST partied last night withus at the club we went to. I'm not down for partying everyday, but he'll party whenever. In fact,him and my other friendspartied on a Wednesday this week as well.The thing that worries me is that he doesn't seem to care at all. I spend a couple of hours in the library on weekdays, and to be honest, it feels good, but even then I'm still behind on things. He hasn't studied since he got here, and I don't want him to fail so I tell him to watch out, and he keeps studying less and less. I don't want to be kicked out of Uni, I'm paranoid as fuck nowadays, about everything. I'm paranoid about drinking (since my floor leader saved my ass a lot of times already), I'm paranoid about school work, and I'm just paranoid about the direction I'm going in general. Fuck, man. I needed to get that out in writing, lol.</p>

You've got mutual friends, so capitalize on that. You can arrainge to meet up at a party (you mention university), and ask to be introduced. Alcohol can also serve as social lubricant to make sure your first encounter is a positive one.
