I forgot that kneeling down for the win at the end of the game takes away from one's rushing total. That's silly, the NFL should look into that I suppose.

Edit- Bah, nevermind, it's not really important.

Congrats to the Cardinals, that was a nice game.

I think its fair, you're moving backwards in the play, so you're essentially losing yardage.

I just realised why almost every kid hates their parents. Because they can't EVER admit they're wrong, yet they'll jump all over you when you make a tiny mistake. Honestly, what kind of ******* double standard is that?

I never really appreciated my parents until I went away to college. Growing up I was always butting heads with them, but that all changed once I went out on my own. My freshman gf gave me a clear contrast to which I was able to re-evaluate my situation: her parents fought all the time, were always scrounging for money and letting that stress affect the way they treated each other, and she was the only one to go to higher education.

It really is amazing the things my parents were able to achieve; the loving family unit that supports each other no matter what, and fostered academic excellence in each of their kids. I was 18 at the time, barely a grown man, but I broke down that night and never got into a fight with my parents again.

To me, it wasn't so much a matter of 'you don't know what you've got til its gone' but rather I didn't know what I had, until I saw someone who didn't.

You don't understand how close your GF's parents are to mine. I can't remember a day were they haven't screamed at each other. I have not idea why they married (apparently they don't either). My dad runs a dead end piece of crap job, and my mom has a good one. Not enough money to send my sister and I both to college, likely, so they're banking on me getting scholorships.

I will likely graduate top5 in my grade, and will definatley make top 10. This is out of 755 kids. Nothing I ever do in school is good enough for them.

On Limits, how the hell are you supposed to solve them graphically. It just plain doesn't make sense trying to solve them graphically. Algebraicly they're a breeze, but graphing makes ZERO sense.

To be honest, I've always, always respected and appreciated my parents. I do lie to them once in a while (about girlfriends obviously), but I tell them the truth 95% of the time, because I hate lying to them, it just makes me feel bad. I have a great relationship with both of them, and they have a greater relationship with one another, and I'm proud to be thier son, to be honest. If there are two people in the world that I'll forever be grateful to, it's my parents. The country from which I came is a country high on poverty and internal crisis (Nepal) and to come from an environment such as that and be living a sufficient and exceptional life in a free, and ridiculously multi cultured country like Canada is more than I could ever ask for. Not to be corny, but if there's someone I want to be like, it would be my Dad. He is honestly my icon, I wish I could achieve half the things he has in his life and be half the person he is.

That was my emotional display for the day lol.

As for chicks, I have this thing for girls with straight hair, nice eyes and nice smiles. Basically, I like girls who look "simple and pretty". Body would be nice, but I really don't care as much about it as I do with the face, because to be honest, that's what attracts me to them initially. Personality and compactability factors in more for me than attraction though, cause in the end, it's not her face that's gonna piss me off or make me fight with her, it's her personality, so it's easier to work with someone who has a personality that's more compatible to mine.

To add, I'm the type of guy that'd probably go after a simple girl that fits my criteria than a HOT HOT girl who presumbly is likely to have a shitty personality, display cockyness, tendency/probability to cheat, etc. Of course, that's not the case with every hot girl, but being a "HOT HOT" girl, they are likely to go for guys that are assholes and end up making them cry anyway....and then they'll complain about it afterwards.

All of my girlfriends and all the girls I've liked all have similar vibes to them. Unfortunetly, they're usually girls who are either taken or have a long list of guys going after them. Still doesn't stop me though, I've managed to leave a mark (whether as a friend or otherwise) inmost of thier lives, and that's cool with me.

By the way, wtf happened to Shard? I miss his random sex stories, they were hilarious.

I have much more respect for my mothers parents though. My grandma managed to get out of Uganda, and my Grandpa was able to flourish in India, while still helping to look after his 7 siblings. Their lives would make a great book.

I was never one to give my parents headaches. I see the shitty position we are in financially, so im basically the guy who doesnt try to be a pain and work hard on my studies. Im not saying thats the only reason i hardly butt heads with them, but it is a major one.

ok, my turn on the girl talk lol.
I prefer the ones who are smart and have a understanding and good personallity. To me, looks come second(but not that far behind). Im not one for the ditzy party-all-the-time types. They seem to have a tendency to cheat imo.

And there is this one girl I like a lot(but i wont put up a pic because you guys are merciless). She's smart, single, and like me(smart, quiet, good personality). Thing is i gots no balls. I knew her in middle school and now she is at a all girl school. I got in touch with her recently thanks to facebook and we been communicating sometimes online. Thing is I gots no balls and i asked her a few times if she wanted to hang out, but she says i am busy, homework, etc. Why do I get rejected by the ones i really like?

Who knows mynets, maybe you just need some time away. Getting your parents in smaller doses might causes both parties to make sure that limited amount of time you do spend is kept positive.

As for BG7, look at the corresponding Y-value if the X-value they give you isn't that obvious (local or global min or max)

    because life isn't fair.

i got some great parents, they got good jobs, give us good money, i got a great relationship with them. they're the nicest, coolest parents ever, and they raised me with good morals and all.
except they didn't really instill a working mentality into me, so i can get lazy at times...but i can't really blame em, and i'm a smart kid. i got a scholarship to a community college and used it, so i wouldn't have to go to them for money all the time. which reminds me, i need to look for a new job to make more money.

but i feel bad, because sometimes i can be a hassle. i crashed my car last year, and they went and bought me another one for 3000...and didn't make me pay anything, which made me feel like an ass, but i got over it, i guess. and i drive smarter.

    Re: Random Thought Thread

Yeah, I figured it out. I found a good Calculus Wiki that explained it very well. Our Calc book is the biggest piece of trash in existence. Its examples are horrible (they only do like half the problem...wtf), doesn't explain what to look for, etc. Our teacher tries, but I was always more of an independant learner. Once I see how to do a topic, I will pretty much own it completely.

I even came up with an alternative way to do proofs for something last year (it was a pre-calc topic, whatever those proofs you had to do in pre-calc were). I do them on the assignment, my teacher, since she was lazy, didn't check them, and gave me a 100 on the assignment. Then comes the test, I do my way, and she marks it wrong. Idiot teacher. My way was right. It proved it.

I got shat on by a girl completely earlier this month. So that relationships over. But I like as I've said before, petite girls and that is mainly because they are so cuddly. Generally like brown hair ,but its not a must. Eyes and smile are two of the biggest things for me. I like a sweet, caring, affectionate girl. Like the more innocent, strong moral girls than the sluts. I currently joined 2 clubs just to spend time with a girl that I used to have a crush on last year. I'm going to homecoming with her, so hopefully something escalates there.

As for girls. You guys just need to learn how to play to your strengths. Figure out what she likes, and how to trigger her by using what you know turns her on, etc. You need to ditch the facebook, msn, etc. stuff. Its middle school stuff. It just plain doesn't work (or didn't work for me). It worked once in middle school...but starting up, by chatting it up online a lot (even if you meet them in person first) is almost an instant ticket to the friends zone!

If a girl keeps avoiding it, then she's probably not really interested, unless she is actually busy every damn weekend with homework. You should just keep trying to talk to her...if she gets cold on you, then just forget it, but usually the more you talk, the more they warm up to you, so you have nothing to lose. And it's not worth dwelling on one girl either way, there's a lot of girls that'll come and go.

On another note: I used to be a lot more reserved in high school, and hada tendency to just keep to my circle of friends. I was cool with everyone, but I was unsure about exploring outside my realms and was really passive when it came to communicating with people I normally didn't communicate with. Over this past month, I've been communicating with everyone and everything. Uni is just that kind of environment, and I thank it for it, because it really improves your social skills in not only communicating with friends in general, but making small talk with girls as well. The funny thing is that I actually really enjoy talking to random people now because that's one more friend I can talk to, as opposed to in high school where I wouldn't really go out of my way to make new friends because I was comfortable with the ones I already had.

Today was a great study session...I dont know, everytime I study really hard I feel good, it's like I've fulfilled something. I guess that's just me trying to justify my gullt of partying tomyself.

Yeah, the number one thing for most girls is usually humour. If you can make them laugh, they will fall for you sooner or later...well provided you're not a jerk in actuality and they're somewhat attracted to you.

I'm really surprised that there hasn't been ONE girl in this University that I've talked to that I've really been interested in. There's a lot of pretty girls yeah, but none of them have that "that's the girl I wanna date" vibe to em. Atleast 7 girls in my high school had that; I have yet to find one down here. Oh well, I guess the beauty of it is that there's so many students that sooner or later, one's gonna come knockin. It's wierd, sometimes I don't really want relationships cause it ends up being a hassle/personally affects me, etc, but then again sometimes I just getsick of/feel like an ass for randomly hooking up with random girls. It's fun, but it makes the girl look bad and makes me look like those typical guys, which I don't really wanna be.

Thanks for the help. I know I have major confidence problems, haha. I see what you're saying, and I've tried hitting on the girls that I'm "not really attracted to".

There has been a few girls sorta like that, who I've talked to, felt great about, hung out with them alot and got to know them and everything...but then when I realized they really liked me and wanted to start something with me, I backed out. Probably because I thought I wanted someone better for me, someone who I'd relate to more, and who I just had stronger feelings for. (I'm picky, I know).

And then, when it seems like I've found that one girl, who i really wanna get serious with, I get nervous as hell with her, and I end up (probably) making a bad impression to her, and feeling like a complete idiot. It recently happened with this country girl, with really great blue eyes, who I was really really attracted to. Idk, I'm just weird like that.

Of course, keep in mind...I've been in one relationship, in love with a girl for 1 1/2 years. So I don't COMPLETELY suck with girls. Just before her, I was okay with girls, but not great. And right now, for some reason, I just plain old suck with girls.
