I went game by game through the entire 17 week season & circled a winner for each game. This was the result a came up with: AFC East New England 11-5 Miami 11-5 Buffalo 5-11 NY Jets 4-12 North Baltimore 11-5 Cincinatti 10-6 Pittsburgh 8-8 Cleveland 3-13 South Indianapolis 12-4 Jacksonville 8-8 Tennessee 3-13 Houston 3-13 West San Diego 12-4 Kansas City 10-6 Denver 8-8 Oakland 5-11 I'll post the NFC results in a moment, but one thing I notice immediately is how low I have the Broncos. I probably should go back & make an adjustment there, but we'll see how the NFC turns out first.
I'm not sure if I would put the Broncos that low - they really haven't lost too many people, and Shanahan has a knack for making things work out...
ehh San Diego with a 1st year starter doing better than last year? I don't see how you lose a Pro Bowl QB and get better in one season. I actually have them 8-8, Denver 10-6, and KC 11-5.
NFC East Washington 11-5 Dallas 11-5 NY Giants 9-7 Philadelphia 6-10 North Minnesota 11-5 Chicago 9-7 Detroit 5-11 Green Bay 5-11 South Carolina 12-4 Atlanta 11-5 Tampa Bay 7-9 New Orleans 5-11 West Seahawks 14-2 Rams 6-10 Cardinals 5-11 49ers 5-11 I messed up some where by 3 so let's give Denver the games against New England & Seattle. I know much BF1 will love that. lol

Anyone else think that both of the hype teams in the NFC East arent going to be a good as everyone says [/bias]
I'm a little stunned still seeing Pittsburgh 8-8 behind Baltimore and Cincy.... Sheesh.... What does a team have to do? Win a Super Bowl? Oh yeah, they did that.
The one thing I've figured in the new NFL if you circle the games you figure your team will win you'll be wrong on half of them but be right on half the ones you figured as a loss. You just got to make your predictions on who you think has the best team cause guessing it game by game will drive you insane
I have New England at 12-4 or possibly 13-3 with the schedule we have this year. Hell, we went 10-6 last year with a tougher schedule and an injury depleted team with NO RUNNING GAME. I don't see Miami going 11-5 like everyone says. Everyone I've talked to or have seen on TV picks Miami to in the division without hesitation. How can you bet so prejudiciously against Belichick and Brady? There isn't a logical explanation for it because they have proven to be ELITE. Unless you're an idiot, you don't bet against the elite.
Well they've decided to go with the rookie kicker & it remains to be seen how he will perform under pressure. Until then the jury is out. However my confidence is still high with additions we have on offense & there's been recent progress on the Branch hold out situation.

QUOTE (bakes781)

I was a bit generous to the Pats & Phins too.
I have the 'phins. pats, & donkeys all @ 10-6 and all making the playoffs. I am slowly getting all my educated guesses together and will post them soon.

Last I checked, they were not the defending champs (see below). They lost McGinest, Vinatieri, & one of the WR's (Patten or Givens) so take off your homer goggles and realize that te AFCE will be a dogfight between Miami & the Pats.
QUOTE (SF 2k5)

I'm a little stunned still seeing Pittsburgh 8-8 behind Baltimore and Cincy.... Steelers should win the AFCN but won't repeat.

The Patriots didn't even make the conference championship game last year. How are you guys elite? If the Dolphins had managed to win just one more of the early season games, we would have been playing you for the division title on the last Sunday of last season. Claiming to be elite at this point is just arrogant. I think letting Adam Vinatieri go was stupid and will hurt the Pats more than anyone knows. In my opinion, Adam may be the best kicker I have seen play in my 30 years of watching football. He ranks at the top of the list in clutch kicking and bad weather kicking. Willie McGinnest is gone. Tedy Bruschi, Chad Brown and Monty Beisel are all injured. That why you signed Junior Seau. Corey Dillon had a crappy year last year. Perhaps Lawrence Maroney will be a superstar, but I need to see him play a couple of regular season games before I will believe the hype. You guys had better get Deion Branch into camp and don't tell me how bad you just whipped someone in the "don't count for nothing" preseason. Having said all that, I still think the Patriots are a good team, but if you think the Patriots are going to kick butt left and right, you might get an ugly wakeup call when the regular season starts up. Please keep claiming to be elite. It will just make the Patriots demise that much more enjoyable.

QUOTE (bakes781)

Who mentioned anything about the preseason?

QUOTE (Pats_Fan420)

Brady's receivers look fine to me. 30-3 means that at least something was going their way.
Isn't this a reference to the Patriots-Cardinals game last weekend?
I must have missed it. Anyway it will be fun to have competition for the division title for a change. There really are no elite teams in today's NFL.
Just pick and choose the parts of my posts that you want to reply to instead of replying to the whole thing. Thats the ticket. Anyway, if you'll read what I posted again you'll see that I said that BELICHICK AND BRADY are elite, which they are. I didn't say anything about the rest of the team. With those two leading the team, many good things are possible. They had Evans as their main RB for some time last season with the rest of the team in shambles and they still pulled off a 10-6 record with a playoff victory. That is pretty impressive no matter who you are and how much you despise the Patriots.

I took your entire post into account when you started talking about not betting against ELITE. I would have had to single out the last three sentences to assume that you were only refering to Brady and Belichick and it makes less sense to think that people wouldn't bet against the Pats because Brady and Belichick are ELITE rather than the whole team. The coach and quarterback are important, but if that's all you got then your toast. At least, I was giving the Patriots credit for having a good team. I would like to know how long your going to cry about injuries. Every team faces them. Some years are rougher than others, but the season doesn't get called off because of them and you don't get a little asteriks by your record because of them. I'm not impressed by excuses.
