<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 5 2008, 09:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Talk about a horrible day. I'm working on this history project with this one guy, which was assigned at the end of last week. We basically split the work load in half, like normal partners do. So I go over to his house this morning (since the project is due on Mon.) intending to piece our work together and practice our presentation. Turns out the ****ing dumbass barely even started on it. So I spend basically the entire afternoon trying to help the dumbass complete his part of the assignment. My idea was, I'd help him a bit, and he can finish it at night, and I'd come over tomorrow and we'd piece the project together. Turns out the dumbass won't even be at home tomorrow. So that means we have to get together early Monday morning to put the finishing touches on the project (I have the class 3rd period). So tonight I tried calling him to see how far he's gotten (I'm already REALLY pissed off and stressing right now) and the dumbass won't even pick up his phone. I've tried calling him like fifty times and the dumb **** doesn't even pick up. Who the hell knows what he's doing, or if he even finished. The project is a 150 point assignment, I figured I'd do good on this project to bring my B- up to a high B or low A. But that plan is basically ruined. I have doubts if we'll even finish the ****ing project on time because the dumbass I got partnered up with doesn't do shit. To make matters even worse, I had 20 bucks on the UCLA and Memphis game (I bet on UCLA winning), so that means 20 bucks out of my wallet on Monday. I'm so pissed right now, and I still have a shit load of work to do (study for Chemistry chapter test, complete Math packet, revise and essay). I'm just stressing out like crazy right now.

I think I'm just going to say **** school this weekend. I'll bring up my grade somehow next time</div>
Thats why I hate group projects, You lost 20 bucks on UCLA.

If me and my friend try playing basketball anywhere around here, the cops come around and try to kick us out. They say it's cause they're worried about kids drinking and doin drugs, idk. We still find places to play, tho

Brian, you should have always considered procrastination being an issue, that's just the nature of most people and should never be a surprise.

Talk to your teacher about it and take his name off your work.

I was nearly killed driving home tonight. I was on Route 30 heading east (dark as hell) when all of a sudden two deer come out onto the road. I missed the first one, but the second smashed the front of my car. Thankfully I swerved enough that the bastard flung into the air like 10 feet doing cartwheels instead of hitting the windshield and/or possibly killing my wife and myself. What a messed up evening after a long day at work.

Yeah man, that's exactly what I said after we hit the damn thing. I know (as I'm sure everyone does) plenty of stories of people getting killed by hitting deer, so I consider us lucky.

Well, it's not like I had a choice. The teacher randomly assigned the groups.

Also, I thought about talking to the teacher and taking his name off the project, but I don't know yet. I'll see tomorrow if he finished the rest of his "part." If not, there's going to be some problems. If we cannot get the project completed before third period, then there's going to be some problems. My biggest issue though is the retard didn't even answer his phone when I called him. He still hasn't called back. I don't know what's up, but he better have a good explanation.

Btw, nice to see you're doing all right M

lol. Funny thing is, everytime I saw him in class I always asked him how the project was going, and everytime he said he was doing fine. I just assumed he was actually doing his part, I guess I can't trust people like that anymore.

I'm in an Engineering class with some extremely bright and polite people, but you couldn't get them to do homework if your life depended on it, unless the work was due the next day.

    This includes Group projects.

Guilty as charged. Although I never do Group projects, I am completely guilty of procrastinating until last second.

I actually do homework for a couple class a mere hour or two before the class starts.

We were hoping so, but I really doubt it. I felt bad, but at the same time it pissed me off because I just know they waited for me to get close before taking their chances across the road. My father-in-law said that one time he hit a deer when was driving home from where he's still currently building his new home in the mountains. He seen the deer on the side of the road and slowed down to let it pass. It didn't seem to be interested in passing the street, so he decided to continue slowly. Once he reaches the deer it decides to randomly come out and gets run right over. What a stupid animal.

Wow, that's pretty dumb. Thank god you and your wife are okay.

I had an incident once where I had 3 or 4 friends with me in my car, and we were driving thru a neighborhood to my friend's house. I was going about 20-25, because (while watching the road straight ahead of me) I was talking to my friend. And out of nowhere, some dumb deer flies out in front of my car, and just bounces right off it. Then, it just went and fell to the side of the road.
I went and checked my car later, and it was fine, no dents or scratches or anything. But then, I went to check the deer, and it died on the side of the road. [IMG] I felt pretty bad.

Last Friday at a Jose Canseco book signing, someone made a cup of coffee for him and placed it at his table as a polite gesture. When he saw it he said something to the effect: "No way they'll get me" and referred to the "Major League Mafia". Heh.
