<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Booth Newspapers reported last week the Pistons are expected to offer Chauncey Billups a four-year contract starting at about $13 million per season. Joe Dumars, Pistons president of basketball operations, strongly stated to The Denver Post via e-mail last week that he has no plans of losing Billups.

"Chauncey is our No. 1 priority this offseason and we have every intention of re-signing him," Dumars said.</div>

Damn, I would have loved to have him running our offense.

I'm disappointed, but it is no big loss for imo. He wants to win now, and adding a PG near the downslide of his prime to be our starter isn't what I had in mind. I'm looking forward to something more like the Bobcats/Cleveland style. Young starter(Felton/Gibson), veteran-mentor backup(Knight/Snow and Jones).

Didn't they say this about Ben Wallace at this time last year? He certainly seems like he would be expensive, but what he could give this team could be priceless.

Yeah he could make us instant contenders. Think if he leaves and wallace follows that team is in the rebuilding phase depending on what they get for wallace. I would love to have billups but not for max money. Maybe 2 or 3 years ago that would be a no-brainer but he is 30 and time will catch him. I say lets stick developing our talent and adding a g. wallace or a shard.

Yeah last year they said the same about B.Wallace then he goes to the Bulls. So I'm not sure about Billups staying if theres a team paying him more and is a championship contender team he will probably leave.Orlando seems great for him Howard/Billups is mad crazy!

You guys aren't going to come near Billups if you're not offering to pay him the $13-15 millions Dumars is willing, too.

what about Gilbert Arenas? This guy is going to opt out he says. This would give you guys a constant scorer and also another star for Dwight.

I heard that too. Well Billups might leave because I heard R.Wallace was gone as well. The team is disbanding so it would be that good next year.

The only way we could get Gilbert Arenas is if we trade for him. It's not like we can just hold off our cap room for next offseason.
