If he is cut by the Steelers, as many Philadelphia media sources are predicting, the Eagles are said to have interest. Staley has received a significant amount of carries this preseason, many of which with the first team O-line. The result has been something like 2 yards per carry. Leading up to the season, I was convinced that Staley would return to his pre-injured form. Cowher says he is improving but I really haven't seen much from him at all. I know someone on the board predicted that the Steelers would be better off with Verron Haynes as their #2 back....looks like that might happen after all. Even John Kuhn has looked better than Staley in my opinion. I know Staley hasn't played in some time and he apparently did not report in great shape so I will be surprised if the Steelers cut him. I'm looking for him to get a whole lot of carries on thursday, he needs a solid game to guarantee his job.

I could swear you said earlier this month that Staley was on his way back to a full recovery and would be part of the collection of RB's that would help the Steelers repeat. ROFL?

So I'm guessing that Veron Haynes will be in the mix with Parker.

Dude, read the post.....Didn't I just say that leading up to the season I thought Staley would return to the back he was before the injuries? Then didnt I say that someone else on the board predicted Haynes would be more reliable than Staley? Do you have a problem with reading comprehension or are you just so anxious for me to say something wrong that you imagine my mistakes?
I can't wait for next thursday....you can watch everyone in the country congratulate my boys, then we'll smack the optomistic look off the face of every fish fan around. enjoy my friend...

I wasn't clear and wanted confirmation which you did. I could have phrased my question differently, but, I tend to have a hard time w/ those who are unobjective.

I hope that in your 2nd paragraph that you did not jinx your beloved steelers looking at next weeks game through your homer goggles. I knew many cocky Bronco fans last year at this time.

It's going to be a tough game BA.... Not sure the Dolphins are quite there yet. If they played the Steelers in week 8 or so, I think it would be a 3 point game either way, but opening up in Pittsburgh, I gotta take the Steelers by 7.

What weren't you clear on? I didn't confirm anything, I just restated exactly what I said the first time. I have a 2 yr old nephew that has to be told things a few times before he understands so I guess I kind of see where you are coming from. And how exactly am I unobjective? I'm confident in my Steelers yes, but I am still objective, just not to ideas that make no sense. The one thing you did say that truly worries me is the jinx thing. Now I'm worried that if the Steelers have a bad game it will be completely my fault for predicting that they would win. There is a world of difference between cocky Denver fans and cocky super bowl champ fans. Anyone that watched the Steelers completely outplay The Colts would have told you that Pittsburgh had an excellent chance of beating Denver.
Are the Dolphins a good team? sure They have an insanely easy schedule so they really do have a good chance of making the playoffs. So you have every reason to think the they will have a good season. I just hope your ego isn't too bruised after taking a smackdown from the black and gold next week.

And my brother has a 2 yr old golden retiever that woul play fetch 24/7 if she could. Your point about your nephew is...?

Seriously, you and Wade Boggs need to get together if you actually you will effect the outcome of the game on 9/7.

Yeah! Denver fans wear Orange & blue and Steeler fans don Black & Yellow. Otherwise,...

I am not playing so... I predict the 'phins will lose the opener. Most on this site will tell you that I'm quite level regardless of how Miami plays.

It takes alot to upset me. Though, Wannstedt's boring style and refusal to adapt came close. Really (in tems of sports), only naive BYU fans and the biased & pollyanna treatment that the local media here in SLC gives them annoy me.

Okay, Picasso. Then what do Notre Dame, the Naval Academy, & the St Louis Rams wear?

Here in Utah; stoplights are red, YELLOW (not gold), & green.

so how did it feel when a man wearing black and gold ran over your"best" defender last year on his way to the end zone?

They are two different colors, if you knew anything about the best franchise in football you would know that. Ask Daunte next friday morning, i know he will be on his back all night but he still should get a good look at the uniform that put him there. How does someone from Utah become a dolphins fan anyway? Let me guess...you grew up when the Dolphins were good so you decided to be a front runner rather than route for a team from your area?

By the way, taking cheap homophobic shots in a thread is a sure sign of someone that struggles to come up with a noteabale contribution to the argument.

I do know about the best franchise in football. I am a fan said organization. I see you are abondoning the color issue. I was just getting ready to bet you a box of 64 count Crayola crayons that I'm right.

How did I become a phins fan? It was that epic game between Miami and the Chargers in 1981 or 82 that convinced me to be a phins fan. Miami just seemed more exotic than San Diego to me at that time. In 1982, we went up to a neighbors who had just gotten cable to watch a game (Univ of Pittsburgh vs ?). I was real impressed by their QB (Some yahoo named Marino) so when he was drafted by the phins a few months after that the Dwo Utah chapter was permanently established.

I never let locality determine loyalty when it comes to sports. Its a copout IMO. There are far too many Broncos/Rockies/Jazz fans here. Of course, thinking outside the box isn't exactly a strong point here along the Wasatch front.

I can't believe this thread went to an arguement between the difference of yellow and gold.

Being gay has nothing to do with the distinction. Gold is a metallic color and has a different, more orangish hue than yellow. The Steelers' Gold is only tonally the same because it's not an actual metallic flake or leafed color. Conversation can stop about differentiating the colors now. Problem solved.

As for the Steelers, they are better than the Dolphins and Bears. At least until the Dolphins or Bears beat the Steelers and prove otherwise. Hypothesis, theory, or the old "best guess" method just doesn't cut it and no one knows that better than BF1 and BA.

Yeah. It could be theorized that this thread started out w/ me getting patronized and its shaping up to end that way as well.

I guess the pressure and subsequent expectation of your team winning a C'ship has caused some to become way too serious and rigid.

Seriously, its not worth getting all bent of shape about. I am certainly not. Once steel is forged, malleability is no longer one of its traits. but I'm not a chemist or metallurgist so what do I know.
