Routing for a team doesent always have to mean they are your "hometown" team, they could be whatever team intrest's you at the moment. and if you read what he said then you woudl of saw that it was the game that actually convinced him, which means there was other things that wer ein play that drove him to his choice of team. The military stationed me in New Jersey for now, but I am not going to change my team every time they move me to a new town. More often than not, people that follow teams from some other city do it because the hometown team is losing. He calls routing for your local team a copout....not sure how that would be a copout. I think a copout is not routing for your local team when they are having a bad year, then finding some other team that is winning......"thats my team!" Bro, he made the discision on who played harder, and who intrested him more. Meaning it wasnt just about whow as winning but who gave him more intrest. Im an eagles fan not just cause i was born in phila, but because my whole family was eagles fans. If it means you have to drive a few minutes over a state line then so be it, that doesn't mean you don't have a team. Who did I rip or disrespect? You and I both know that your tv station played one or two particular teams religously because they were the closest teams that everyone bought tickets to and made the drive. What I disagree with is when someone abandons the area they grow up in, the area that is expected to support an organization by buying tickets, they stop supporting that team because they aren't winning enough for that person. That is something that I strongly disagree with.
