<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets, who have been discussing a Mike James-for-Juwan Howard swap in one form or another since the February trade deadline, have agreed in principle to finally complete that deal this month, ESPN.com has learned. An announcement of the trade's completion could be made as early as this week, according to NBA front-office sources. The holdup stems from the possibility that another player or two could be added to the deal, sources say. The teams, though, have verbally agreed to a straight-up exchange of James for Howard at the very least. </div> Source: ESPN Looks like the Rockets are going to be keeping Rafer and have James as a backup.
Woo Hoo! I missed Mike James ever since he left Houston about 2 years back. I am glad he's coming back.
I want to see who the other two players that could be added are. The deal will probably go straight up for those two players, but this should imrpove both teams. This puts our PF depth at a seriously bad level
Actually what I see happening is: Juwan + Sura + Luther Head for James + Madsen + a future 1st rounder draft pick (protected)
<div class="quote_poster">TmacGarnett Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Actually what I see happening is: Juwan + Sura + Luther Head for James + Madsen + a future 1st rounder draft pick (protected)</div> Why throw Luther and Sura in the deal when they already agreed to JHo for Mike James straight up? Luther and Suras contract can be used for other potential trades. We really don't need Madsen, hell he's a white version of Hayes with less offensive game.
<div class="quote_poster">TmacGarnett Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Actually what I see happening is: Juwan + Sura + Luther Head for James + Madsen + a future 1st rounder draft pick (protected)</div> Don't see what the Wolves would want with Head. They've already got McCants and Foye. I like Howard for James straight up though. The Rockets seem to be getting the better end of the deal, and I guess this move would mean we are for sure going to take a power forward in the first round.
Since this trade will happen (most likely), I think they might actually trade Shane Battier for Chris Wilcox. Or maybe Rick Adelman is looking to play Steve Novak. Hm..... Suns is putting him on market. I do not know if Rockets would be able to get him with his salary. Maybe we should get him. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...,3623168.column
I will jump off a cliff if the Rockets send Battier to Seattle in a trade that doesn't involve Lewis. Just say no to Wilcox. <div class="quote_poster">MrJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I thought Rocket fans hated Mike James?</div> Nah, I think most hated the trade, that hate deterred to James when he didn't sign with us over a trade kicker. Rafer/James/Lucas T-Mac/Head/V-Span Battier/Bonzi Hayes/Novak Yao/Deke We really need some athleticism in our front line. Marc Gasol is not the answer.
The Rockets must have another deal in place, or are really sold on a player in the draft. Mike James gives the Rockets a legit 3rd scoring option, and some insurance when TMac's back acts up. Of course there's also the possibility the Rockets are going to trade their pick for upfront help. A lot of teams are in the marketplace to acquire a 1st rounder.
I'm gonna miss Juwan :c I know a lot of you guys don't like him or think he isn't worth much to this team, but this guy has heart and you've never seen him complain, even when JVG opted to start Hayes and didn't even let him play in the first couple of games. He's a professional, and I would be sad to see him go. Despite that, basketball wise, it is a smart move. Agreed that our PF depth would really sink if Juwan leaves. Hope we get a good deal for a PF later on.
I agree with Eduardo, Juwan was a classy guy who you can't hate to have on a team, but the trade will benefit the Rockets so I wish him the best when he leaves and look forward to having James back If only we could get Lewis...but I kinda hate losing Battier, even if he is a offensive liability he plays very tenacious D and we will miss that.
Does this also mean we're getting other players who can are flexible enough to play PF? (ie. Artest). It's a good move, though I don't like where we are going with our PF position. Wilcox could get the job done, but we can get better for Battier.
Well for one thing, I'm sad to say our famous Juwan vs Chuck debates are official DEAD Till this day I feel like you guys didn't respect Howard's game. He was a true classy guy...........With that said, this is the beginning of the Adelman era. I'm excited that we're not wasting any time with the trades. I don't see Rafer and James on the same team. They don't compliment each other well
Great move if it happens straight up. J.Howard is a good old player...It was the plays he just could not make that hurt him I dont think this necessarily means Skip is staying. If anything he is more likely to be on the trading block too with everybody else, seeing as M.James could start, I wouldn't exactly see that as a downgrade Don't Trade S.Battier for Wilcox or R.Lewis. I rather see them sweaten the deal for Artest There will be some PF that can finish that will be free agents Rockets fans only hated M.James when he played for somebody else.
So..what happens if the Knicks buy out Francis? Personally I would take Francis at minimum over Mike James.

Till this day I've never seen him run a fastbreak properly. He's not a point guard, undersized for a shooting guard, and can't defend. Atleast Mike James knows his role......... NOTE:You think Skip takes dumb shots, Francis makes him look like John Stockton
I actually heard some rumors that Rockets were gonna package Sura+ Snyder + 26th pick to a lottery team for their pick and a scrub player. The lottery is packed with starting caliber PFs so that could add some youth to that front line.
