^That would be nice. If NY does buyout S. Francis I would sign him for the min and I guess I would trade Rafer/James. I guess Rafer. Francis/James/Lucas T-Mac/Head/Span Battier/Snyder/Bonzi Hayes/Novak Yao/Deke Draft an athletic wing. Sign McDyess with the full MLE. Francis, T-Mac, Battier, McDyess, Yao I could see that starting 5 doing some damage. James, Head, and Novak (Hayes/Bonzi?) could be the nucleus of our new and improved bench.

No lottery team would be willing to give up their pick in a draft as deep as this for that package...
A solid move, but this means the Rockets have to acquire another PF. Hayes and Novak won't cut it. Luther Head or Rafer Alston are probably gone.
Deal is done. J.Howard for M.James and Justin Reed 6'7 240 undersized PF, with some post moves, can rebound, plays a lot like Chuck but is long and can finish at the Rim. Decent Catch to compete for some time.
This deal as everyone knows is gonna heat up our search for a PF. If we find a legit PF that can rebound, then I think we are set. I hope we sign or draft one and not trade for one because I want to keep Shane on our team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm gonna miss Juwan :c I know a lot of you guys don't like him or think he isn't worth much to this team, but this guy has heart and you've never seen him complain, even when JVG opted to start Hayes and didn't even let him play in the first couple of games. He's a professional, and I would be sad to see him go. Despite that, basketball wise, it is a smart move. Agreed that our PF depth would really sink if Juwan leaves. Hope we get a good deal for a PF later on.</div> I agree...Juwan was a great guy and I hate to see him go, but I am glad to have Mike back in a rockets uni...........now lets make that artest deal happen, lol <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">why not play shane at the 4?</div> you could get away with that against Dallas and Phoenix, but not against S.A.

so does this mean we dont have a chance at getting Mike Bibby? or maybe we did this trade so we can trade Mike James and some one else to the kings for bibby! =)
lol they got Lucas hoping he could be our Mike James, and now that we have the real Mike James, I guess he's the odd man out. I thought Adelman was interested in Spanoulis, how is Spanoulis gonna get playing time now?
He's 6' 4" almost 6'5" If he develops a better jumpshot, I think he will see minutes at both the one and the two. 10 mpg is the highest I can see him average. I say we just ship his ass back to Greece.

There is the possibility that we go: C - Yao PF - Battier SF - Tmac SG - James PG - Alston and have Vspan come off the bench as a backup PG, but I dont think Tmac will play the 3.
In a Adelman ran system, Mike James makes more sense. I don't see Rafer staying with us. He's prolly gonna be somewhere else by next year. NOTE: Can somebody explain to me what gettin rid of Howard's contract has done to our salary cap

If you watch his past games(Rockets and in Greece) He has the ability to get to the rim and finish. Personally I think that alone should give him a chance to play in this legue. The guy need consistant PT to learn the NBA game. I would rather let Luther go, he's a defensive liability and is very one dimensional.
<div class="quote_poster">ownage Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> but I dont think Tmac will play the 3.</div> Playing the 3 would probably be best for Tracy, that's his natural position. And in the west that's full of tough 2 guards it'll keep him out of foul trouble.

That's a very small line up with Battier at PF and James at SG. I don't mean that Battier is short because he's 6"8, but he doesn't have the necessary strength to play that position.
the trade is finalized. It is Mike James & Justin Reed for Juwan Howard. Yahoo Sports is reporting this
Yeah. We got Justin Reed (some scrub) and Mike James for Juwan Howard. I guess this either means Rafer is getting out or one of either Spanoulis/Lucas/Head might get traded.

The only one I'd even THINK of keeping is Head, because he's young. Spanoulis is a turnover machine who has been given many chances to prove himself.

Manu Ginobili did not prove himself so easily, and people are going to pull that crap that a player drafted that late and is that good only comes around so often, but Spanoulis has heart and determination, and I honestly think he can be an impact player in this league. But hey, I was the guy defending Boki Nachbar, and look how he turned out. . . Oh, wait. Hard to give up on a guy his first season when he hadn't averaged legitimate minutes in a game. But the 10 games in which he gets major minutes playing with scrubs, everyone of his turnovers is his fault, not to mention he'd score 5 points+ in those 10 minutes. Anyways, James is a solid acquisition, we have some more movable players. He can be the Bobby Jackson of our team, someone that I have always thought well of (at least, when him and McGrady didn't fight). I wonder if we ship off Alston and have James start with Spanoulis as a backup. That would be interesting.
