"And what current or past NBA player do you think your game most resembles? “Probably a young Kobe. Not the superstar Kobe, but the Kobe from when he first came into the league with his afro.”" I'm not sure how this is going to sit well with Kobe. We should be using this pick to get guys to build around Kobe right now, not on some guy who thinks he might become Kobe-like in the future. But like the article states, in all likelihood this pick will probably be traded.
I was more of a Arron Afflalo guy that the Lakers should draft but seems impossible he will fall all the way to the 19th pick.Anyways we need a SG since Shamu and Smush are not coming back and Sasha sucks.

He's one-dimensional and really unathletic compared to the rest of the wings in this year's draft. Not to mention that he's limited by his size and his first step. I can't see him going any higher than the mid-20's.
I love this pick, I love Nick Young, but I honestly see him going a bit higher. Also, I doubt we will into the draft with our 19th overall pick, but if we can maintain it, I would LOVE Nick Young
Another good possibility for you guys if you keep the pick and Nick Young is gone is Derrick Byars from Vanderbilt.

He plays hard on both sides of the ball, and has improved every year at USC. Young is available to step right in and start producing. He's not a project like Sasha Vujacic was when they drafted him. If he can give this team a consistent 8 to 10 points off the bench and not hurt the team defensively, he'll be a worthy draft choice at #19.
Quick question, does anyone still think we'll have the 19th overall pick when it's all said and done with? Also, another quick question. IF we trade for Jermaine O'Neal, like we are rumored to, and we are to use the 19th pick in a package, that means the trade will take place before the draft, right? Or on draft night
I think the trade happens to be on draft night David Stern: Attention a trade has been made with the 19th pick of the draft the Lakers trade the pick to Indiana in exhange for blah blah blah

Yeah Young seems to be moving up the mock drafts and might not be avaible at 19. Reading another board, Bobcats fans are talking about at least considering him at #8. If I was the Lakers, I would definitely draft Derrick Byars to play alongside Kobe. The kid can do everything. He is a good shooter and plays good defense. He can help spread the floor out for the bigs. He's also 23(which is why he's so far down the draft boards), so he will be able to produce right away and not be a project. He owned Corey Brewer in both games he played against him this year, so that should tell you how capable he is on offense.http://www.justbball.com/forums/editpost.p...itpost&p=832053 Edit/Delete Message
