The twolves traded Mike James and Justin Reed to the Houston Rockets for Juwan Howard. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/bask...e.ap/index.html James was a huge dissapointment and big waste of money. Juwan's contract is up after this year I think so that is a good thing i guess. I also hate Justin Reed so this trade was a pretty good one imo. It isn't goin to shake anything up too much but it's a step forward I think. Now we have a lot more room at the one and two as well.
I agree. Now if we could just move out from under all those other contracts while bringing veterans with expiring contracts we could at least start making KG happy....for a change....lol
^^Yeah i agree. I think this may be a sign that Mchale knows what he needs to do to start getting better. No more gambles. Get rid of ugly contracts for decent vets and hopfully get a running mate for KG in the process. Also, nice to see another wolves fan here at JBB. Hopefully you stick around.
Solid trade for both teams. Signing James didn't make any sense, but at least McHale was able to fix the problem and ship him out. Howard is a servicable short term solution and can backup KG and Blount off the bench.
Thanks for the love Fresh! I plan on being here for a hot minute now that I've found my way. Mad love to all you Wolves fans out there. Let's give KG one more push at greatness before the sadness of possibly trading him happens, I'd love him to win with us...but above all I just want to see KG get his ring!!!
Howard, last season, averaged around 10 - 5 - 2. If it's consistent, we'd be getting more than we could bank on with James. But I one of the issues that we have is KG needs help on the boards. I can understand Ming taking a lot of boards from Juwan, but I'd hope he can provide more here. From what I understand, he can score but his defense is absent.
Don't see why it's much of a surprise, Houston has pursuing James ever since he had his breakout year in Toronto. All in all, Houston got what they wanted, and so did the Wolves.
I'm starting to love the move more and more. Just the idea of how his demeanor will effect the locker room in a positive manner is a serious push in the right direction. And it's always a plus when you actually listen to KG and get what he feels will help the team. Sure the front office brass have all thier scouting and databases, but alot should be taken into consideration when it comes to KG...he's out there busting his ass (and heart, for that matter) every night, who better to know what kind of chemistry will work than a veteran of his caliber. But with all that said, it was icing on the cake to dump off Reed...did he even play last season?...jk...lol
What bothers me about, not just James, but players in general is it always seems like it's someone else's fault they were moved. It's "I didn't get a chance to show what I got" instead of "The system and I didn't mesh" or "I didn't do well and hope to rebound" or for James, "My game is bipolar and I'm wildly inconsistent". James got plenty of opportunities but didn't do nearly as much as he did in his contract seeking season. Today's word is: R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y
