Kubiak clears the air and says they don't plan to cut him. This was probably a rumor started by someone like Chris Mortenson who makes his living in the rumor mill.

I feel a lot better about my other league, all of a sudden.

Kubaik couldnt cut a guy who his first two seasons avg like 1200 yards a year. Without Davis last year the team wouldnt have won a game.

They won't put him on IR, either. If they do, they're basically eating a multi-million dollar salary for the year with no return. They'll keep him active...even if he doesn't play until week 4.

Who did that? Davis has never had a season in which he rushed for 1200 yards....

Consider that its the Bronco mentality that came with Kubiak....He thinks he can plug in any NFL back and rush for 1000 yards and judging by the success in Denver, maybe he can....running backs dont have the value today that they did even 5 years ago because the league is saturated with good ones....for that reason alone, I can see not picking one 1st overall....

I've heard Vernon Morency, who the Texans drafted form Okla St in 05 (?), has been doing well.

well they may have to put him on the ir because he cannot be on the pup list becasuse he passed his phisical... There is always a possiblity

Kind of splitting hairs there, aren't you? Davis was 12 yards shy of 1200 in 2004 and has averaged about 400 yards receiving per year to put him over 1200 yards of total offense rushing/receiving in each of his three seasons.

His point is still valid (if not the INDISPUTABLE truth!)...

IR is an option, sure, but like I said...they'll lose him for the entire year! And have to eat his salary! His knee is "bruised." Even if it's badly bruised, you're looking at missing a few weeks (out of 16). You can't tell me the Texans don't have some sixth string defensive back or special teamer they can let go to allow Davis to keep his roster spot.

That's what I'm trying to say. It's not like every player on the Texans is so uber talented that they can't make room for Davis somehow without throwing the season out the window. Putting him on IR would just be dumb at this point.

I'm telling you...it's the media trying to make something out of nothing. And Kubiak trying to assert the fact that he's the man now in Houston. Davis will be in and starting by week 2.

Putting Davis on IR would be the single stupidest move they could make. If they don't like Davis, they can get some great trade material for him. That being said, what's not to like about Davis? Sure, he ran for just less than 1200 yards - but this is behind the Houston offensive line!

This is just what Kenn said it was - the media making something out of nothing. Davis will start by week 2 and everyone will forget about this.

No....we've had this problem before and this is how guys get overhyped....if you make a statement like: "Hes averaged 1200 yards over the 1st 3 years of his career", when a guy has never reached that mark, even in a single season, then its a ridiculous bogus claim....I even took into consideration that he might have meant combined yards, but Davis has averaged almost 1500 combined yards a season, and I dont think he would have said 1200 if he was talking about combined yards from scrimmage....the point being, dont make specific statistical claims on these forums unless you did the work 1st to get the right numbers becuase there are too many educated fans here that will call it out when its not right....

The Texans cut their roster down to 55 today and Domanick Davis (obviously) wasn't cut...
