The Pistons just traded Carlos Delfino to the Raptors for two second round picks (2009 & 2011).

He essentially cost the Raptors nothing, and could have been a solid addition to our second unit. [IMG]

Yup, I wasn't even thinking of Delfino, but he is a great addition, I guess Joe wanted to give up some space. Hopefully he'll be a solid contributor.

This was just like the trade deadline this season when veteran point guard Anthony Johnson was traded for practically nothing. Anyways, Mitch said he has plans of trading some of our picks away for veteran help. Hopefully we can work out another swap like the Maurice Evans trade

The deal isn't that great, it cost 2 2nd rounders for Delfino with 1 year on his contract. He could leave next year, and it wouldn't look all that great.

plus the fact that he isnt any good and has never really done anything in the nba, only in euro ball, is another point that shows how dumb it would be if we did get him. we need good, established players. not unproven, potentialy good but not quite there players. we already have too many of those.

Delfino is good when given the minutes. He's solid offensively, and I believe, a good defender. You also have to keep in mind that Toronto got him for picks in years 2009 and 2011! We're not talking about this year's 2nd round picks, or even next years. These are picks way down the road. Plus, most 2nd round picks are pretty much a crapshoot. A lot of them don't even make the final roster. Delfino is a solid player, and still pretty young, he would have definetly helped strengthen our bench

Delfino is a good player, he's just been stuck behind Billups, Hamilton, and Prince. Flip Saunders plays his starters heavy minutes, so the backups don't get many opportunities.

Coming out of Detroit, you know Delfino is going to get after it on the defensive end. He can create off the dribble, and he can score from the perimeter. The only reason the Pistons are letting him go is to clear cap space in order to re-sign Billups.

You're asking for established players, which Delfino some-what is, and it's costing you only 2 second picks. These picks should be late second rounders, and most late second rounders don't even last in the league.

You can make trades as soon as your season ends.

Delfino is a solid player that never got the playing time. Look at Darko Milicic. When given the minutes he is solid as well. Toronto just got a nice addition to their team.

I thought that you have to wait until the whole season ends then you can make trades.
