I dont like this one bit, what the hell is Joe D thinking? Well I think I know, a SG at #15 in the draft! Grrrrrr... this is ridiculous, considering our depth at PG currentley stands at Chauncey and Will Blalock, and to think we got 2 future second round picks for Delfino disgusts me.
Yeah I don't agree with this trade either. He was just starting to clean up his act this year and I thought he improved his jumpshot well as the year went on. Don't know where Joe D.'s head is but I'll trust that he knows what hes doing.
I think this move signals one of the following things: 1. Taking a SG/SF with the #15 pick in the Draft, my money being on either Nick Young or Rodney Stuckey. 2. Alex Acker will return to the lineup and Joe D wants to free up as much playing time for him as possible. 3. Delfino wasnt happy with his role on the Pistons, and asked Joe D for a trade. 4. Joe D is infact an idiot. I must admit, I have never been much of a Delfino fan, although he was starting to grow on me this season, I'm not so much dissapointed to see him go, as I am the fact we got jack sh*t in return for him. The asking price should've at the very least been a future 1st rounder or a deal for Jose Calderon. Maybe Joe D has somthing up his sleeve, but I dont really see how this deal helps any future plans, other than freeing up time and space to take a SG in the Draft.
Delfino for Calderon = Not EVER going to happen. BC would never give up Calderon for Delfino. Jose is one of the brightest PG in the game, and he is gonna be good very soon. If Calderon was given up, it would look horrible on BC's part, and an EOY can't look bad, you know.
I don't see how this move makes Joe Dumars an idiot. Delfino was a decent role player but nothing more. He's definitely expendable, especially when you're trying to cut cap like the Pistons are. I also think people are reading too much into the implications this will have on the draft. The Pistons still stand to lose almost their entire front court in free agency this offseason and could use a combo forward like Al Thornton much more than a combo guard like Rodney Stuckey.

doesn't look good right now (depending on if you get a steal in one of those draft picks).....Delfino sorta reminded me of a poor mans Ginobili.....
I'd wait and see. Personally, I think they're freeing up time and money to make a run at Grant Hill. If they can bring him in then I think this trade makes a lot of sense. You also have to take into consideration how good the Pistons have been with their 2nd round picks the past few years.

This trade makes no sense. I understand that Delfino will be a restricted free agent this summer and they didn't want to run the risk of losing him for nothing after July 1st, but at the same time I do not think that his market value is so high that you couldn't have waited to see what interest he was going to draw from other teams. Two future second round picks do not address the immediate needs of the Pistons right now. Delfino played the majority of his reserve minutes at small forward, Now as the roster is currently constructed either Ronald Dupree or Amir Johnson will be Prince's primary backup. Both of these players are very unproven and I would like to think that Amir Johnson future is at the power forward spot. So if Joe was looking to clear cap space for free agent spending he probably should have included Rasheed Wallace, Nazi Mohammed, Lindsey Hunter, Ronald Murray, or Will Blalock to do it because getting rid of Delfino really throws off the balance of this roster.

Glad to see that you follow your team closely.</div> Lol, he isn't that good that we need to remember his name I think that Delfino won't make a huge impact a big enough one that this makes Joe look a bit off. However, you never know that Joe did this for Delfino so he can get off in his career and play on a team that utilizes him better and more.
