http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2565978 Kubiak clears the air and says they don't plan to cut him. This was probably a rumor started by someone like Chris Mortenson who makes his living in the rumor mill. I feel a lot better about my other league, all of a sudden.
Kubaik couldnt cut a guy who his first two seasons avg like 1200 yards a year. Without Davis last year the team wouldnt have won a game.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (bakes781)</div><div class='quotemain'>that doesnt mean he's certain to get the majority of the carries.</div> The starting announcement was for week 1, davis wont be available. He will probably be the man. TOo much talent not to.
I still find it strange that they dident draft reggie bush... and its weird that they had a weird draft then the gm decides to leave town... i thought they were going to get da brick instead of mario..weird.
They won't put him on IR, either. If they do, they're basically eating a multi-million dollar salary for the year with no return. They'll keep him active...even if he doesn't play until week 4.

There is always a possiblity
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Who did that? Davis has never had a season in which he rushed for 1200 yards....</div> Kind of splitting hairs there, aren't you? Davis was 12 yards shy of 1200 in 2004 and has averaged about 400 yards receiving per year to put him over 1200 yards of total offense rushing/receiving in each of his three seasons. His point is still valid (if not the INDISPUTABLE truth!)...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>well they may have to put him on the ir because he cannot be on the pup list becasuse he passed his phisical... There is always a possiblity</div> IR is an option, sure, but like I said...they'll lose him for the entire year! And have to eat his salary! His knee is "bruised." Even if it's badly bruised, you're looking at missing a few weeks (out of 16). You can't tell me the Texans don't have some sixth string defensive back or special teamer they can let go to allow Davis to keep his roster spot. That's what I'm trying to say. It's not like every player on the Texans is so uber talented that they can't make room for Davis somehow without throwing the season out the window. Putting him on IR would just be dumb at this point. I'm telling you...it's the media trying to make something out of nothing. And Kubiak trying to assert the fact that he's the man now in Houston. Davis will be in and starting by week 2.
Putting Davis on IR would be the single stupidest move they could make. If they don't like Davis, they can get some great trade material for him. That being said, what's not to like about Davis? Sure, he ran for just less than 1200 yards - but this is behind the Houston offensive line! This is just what Kenn said it was - the media making something out of nothing. Davis will start by week 2 and everyone will forget about this.
