Dude signs with the Spurs, and gets a ring instantly. Kidd had the same opportunity, but passed it up.

    Anyway congrats to Jacque.

Congrats to Vaughn and Finlay. Both have had long careers and finally got a ring.

Kinda sad how a guy like Vaughn gets a ring over Malone, Kidd, Stockton etc.

Don't get me wrong, he played very well for SA, but is he more deserving?

Horry has 7 rings but KG has none. [IMG]

Horry is clutch, definitely. That part of his game you can't really deny, but he has been really lucky to "land" on championship teams.

He isn't guy who can change a team around or make a huge impact, so it makes me a bit sick that he has 7 rings.

Horry is the ultimate team player. He wins everywhere he goes, and always comes up big when his team needs it the most. He never shys away in pressure situations, and is never afraid to take the last shot. Horry is one of the clutchest players in NBA History, and he's someone who everyone would love to have on their squad.

Not to mention he's also a really nice guy off the court as well

I don't think that's fair to Vaughn. So does Matt Bonner, James White, Melvin Ely, Elson, Oberto, etc.. I mean they're role players, those guys are gonna get rings but doesn't mean they should be thrown in the "undeserving" category.

I was mentioning Vaughn because he used to be with the Nets. I didn't make this thread to hate on him, simply just stating Kidd could have been in his position.

It has nothing to do with luck, and he didn't just "land" on championship teams. Those teams realized how important a guy like him can be. He was there because his skill sets warranted those team to pursue him. He deserves every single one of those rings.

Yeah besides the fact that he bites players, trash talks, and commits dirty moves he's a standup guy. lmao

But yeah congrats to Vaughn, he didnt get his ring like most veterans. Go to a contending team and barely play minutes. He actually caused matchup problems the entire playoffs. When Duncan or someone got double teamed, guess who was open near the basket or in the corner....Vaughn.

So congrats to Vaughn. And Finley (a true standup veteran)

Please. Any competitor that consistently wins in this league is like that. Besides, anyone who watched basketball pre-2000 would put all of Horry's "dirty" moves as normal. Stern has really watered down this league to thinking guys like Horry and Bowen are dirty when by a decade and a half ago's standards, he'd be normal. People complain about this league being a shell of its former self--too many fouls and and free throws, but the truth is, that's what most people want. They bitch and moan about dirty this and dirty that and not getting calls, and at the same time complain about Stern being too domineering. You can't play both sides. I'm not just talking about this poster here, but from what I've been reading.
