Why not trade Bynum away? He is just another Big Country (Bryant Reeves). Too much expectation, can't really get the job done. If we can, i hope we give odom another chance.

so much drama going on, and the offseason has barely begun. kobe might just be lighting a fire under managements collective asses. imo if he wants to win i think the lakers organization should be able to do that.

I can't belive this happened again... If he does get traded, go to Chicago. Personally I think a Hinrich, Kobe, Deng trio in the east sounds devastating.

IF Bryant still wants to be traded after having a serious one on one talk with Dr. Buss, then let him go. It?s like this why stay in a relationship when the girl wants out, let her go. As much as you love/like her if she doesn?t feel the same way towards you, she?ll end up hurting you in the end. I wish they could work things out but I don?t want a player on my team who doesn?t want to be here as much as I want him to be here.

All I know is Kobe wants what?s best for Kobe, it doesn?t matter if its with the Lakers or not. I on the other hand, want what?s best for the Lakers with or without Kobe.

Kobe has been my favorite player since i begun following basketball, but it's getting to the point where enough is enough. Whether these statements are true or not, as a Laker fan I'm getting sick of the Kobe soap. Kobe may be my favorite player of all time, but if he doesn't want to be here and we can get a solid young group of players for him, I'm all for it.

As much as people doubt Bynum, I still believe he will be a very solid force in this league. If we can get a good young core along with some early picks, I would say go for it. In the mean time I believe Odom would be the perfect player to help bring along the young ones and help them develop. If we did deal Kobe I don't believe it will drastically improve or worsen what we already have, which is a team that is above average but nothing special.

If Kobe would really like to be traded, I would love to see this done earlier than later. Do it Mitch... That's the least you can do.

This is the best analogy I've heard, simply because I'm going though that exact thing right now (with a girl, not the lakers lol). Get Kobe out, seriosly, trade him to the Suns for Amare and Marcus Banks.

    Nash
    Kobe
    Marion
    Me
    Suns Intern.

    That'll win a title.

Uh, were is the god damn proof? First of all, the damn media didn't even know Kobe was in Spain until he made a surprise visit to Barca. Then, there is a source close to Kobe's meeting with Buss in SPAIN? When the media didn't know he was there? I'm calling BS on this one hundred percent.

I can buy that Kobe talked to him, I can buy that Kobe doesn't want Lamar to be traded, but I can't buy that there was a god damn source close to this situation.

L.A. media likes to stir crap up, they're at it again. Kobe was very vocal about his first two demands, he wouldn't change that here. Until I here it from his mouth again, I'm calling BS.

At least he is not pulling an Iverson where he states he wants to be traded, lets trade talks drag on for a couple months without one statement coming from the Iverson camp. Then once the trade becomes official, he tries to act like he never wanted to be traded and blames management for trading him. Ahh, the life of an unhappy superstar. With all that said KOBE TO CHICAGO! (as long as it doesn't gut the team)

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Lakers are loathe to trade Bryant because, as Buss' daughter Jeannie -- a Lakers vice president -- wrote recently on a Lakers Web site after Bryant first publicly requested a trade two weeks ago: "My message is simple," she wrote. "He is not going anywhere. How can you trade Kobe when there is no equal to Kobe?"
That is essentially true. Normally, when talking about a trade for Bryant, only a handful of players could even be mentioned in the same sentence: Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard and maybe Greg Oden.
But it is possible that Bryant could become such a distraction to the Lakers that they might trade him for lesser value. And, because he has a no-trade clause, he could veto any trade but the one he favors. That would likely be the only way the Knicks could get him.

People need to ask these questions first before jumping to conclusions.

I personally don't see Kobe going anywhere, regardless of what's been reported. He's almost impossible to trade without gutting a roster in order to get him. If he wants to win, that's not the way to go. Staying in LA might actually be the best option for him. They're working on getting better right now and at least have a full team. Wherever he goes, that team is going to have to give up at least 4 or 5 players just to match the salaries, and those are all likely to be some pretty key players. In my book, trading Kobe is almost impossible unless it's for another superstar with a massive contract.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">How are you going to feel when Kobe leads AMERICA to a gold medal in two months, and we’ve traded him for ben gordon and a rookie whose name no one can pronounce?

And then Kobe will go to chicago and he will win 2 or 3 titles there.

Brace yourself for the nightmare. This doesn’t end with Kobe being traded. This goes on for the next 5 or 6 years that Kobe plays at the level he is capable of. Phil winning his 10th title in Chicago, and the media talking about how the Lakers traded Shaq, only to see him win a championship, then they trade Kobe, only to see him win one.

We are (bleep) beyond all comprehension - and it’s just getting started.

This is KOBE. In the EAST. With no competition, and capspace to build a team.

Trading Kobe is beyond crazy. Its the dumbest move in the history of sports. And it’s not because I love him - right now I hate him. But it doesn’t matter. We are all going to choke on this for years and years to come.</div>

Very cool article and very true.
