According to Sheridan, ESPN, Shawn Marion may end up in LA for Walton, #19, and "another player." Thoughts? At this point, we just need other stars on the team, I REALLY don't want to see my boy Kobe leave the team.

The #19 pick isn't that special, and Walton wouldn't even get much playing time on Phoenix, much less start. If the Suns were that desperate to ditch Marion, they'd shop him for another legitimate superstar who's looking to go to a new situation, like Garnett, Gasol, or Pierce. Los Angeles has a very active media with an even more active imagination, but the reality is that their trash is still just that - trash. It's not worth other teams' treasure.
Yeah I saw this yesterday, and I have no idea who gave him that rumor. I know Phoenix wants to clear cap space, but I'd have to wager they can do a lot better than Walton, #19, and other player (likely Kwame for cap purposes.)

They're one of the most developed teams in the league. The last thing they need to be doing is rebuilding, especially at this juncture in Steve Nash's career. And if it were cap-motivated, wouldn't it make more sense to pull the trigger next offseason when Kwame Brown's contract would actually come off the books? Not to mention that there are a lot of players out there whose contracts are just as big, or even bigger, that cary more immediate value than Brown.

I could understand if we were talking about letting a player like Marcus Banks go, but the Matrix?

I think they can with the roster they have now. To let the Matrix go now, would really hurt them IMO.

The Suns want to avoid paying the luxury tax, like Kwan mentioned above. The goal was to win a title this year with their current core, but even with Amare back, they only made it to the second round. If they had won the title Sarver was willing to keep everyone for another run, but getting eliminated in Round 2 meant changes were coming.

He's not a free agent or demanding a trade, is he? Then here's the solution - just don't create that void in the first place and keep him on the roster. Forget what Sarver said he'd do. Trading Shawn Marion would be a complete step backwards. You don't just give up on a team as good as this one because of two early exits, do you? If you give up on Marion, you give up on this current Suns core and start to focus on the future. Then, as a result, you phase Steve Nash out of your future plans as well. Teams like this just don't disseminate overnight for the luxury tax.

^^Well the only thing that I personally dont like about Marion is that he shoots the ball like a little girl

He makes more shots then anyone on your team not named Kobe and that basically includes very few plays run for him. Not to mention his rebounding and defense are outstanding.
Marion>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Walton anyday of the week. Are you saying you wouldn't want a guy who averages: 17.5ppg/9.8rbs/2stls/1.5blks for Luke Walton? Luke averages: 11.4ppg/5rbs/4.3apg/1stl/.4blks The only thing Walton is better at is passing. That's it. Just because Marion shoots like a lil girl doesn't mean you turn down an All-Star. I'm sorry that's just a bad excuse.

Kobe and Marion would be a scary duo. Both good scorers along with great defenders. Man, that would be nasty. The only team that would reject that trade would be Phoenix. Great trade for the Lakers.
