This isnt reports I looked it up officially before I posted. and for Noches salary; are you forgetting hes a free agent? hes a starting SF for most teams in the league. and my thought is he will get the amount stated.</div> Your thoughts are above the official reports from Chicago Tribune Live? Gordon and Deng will want new contracts at some point this summer and Gordon's salary is likely somewhere between the asking price noted by those professionals. We also know Paxson wants to re-sign these guys before the summer is over. That's been the topic since the beginning of the 06-07 season even began. From a realistic standpoint expect a sign-and-trade or Nocioni to be re-signed along with Gordon and Deng this summer and the roster remains the same until next season.
Just so everyone knows, Nocioni's outgoing trade value will be worth half of his next contract's value or his current contract (whatever is higher), because he'll be BYC. So whatever scenarios you guys use he'll be outgoing value at about 3.5-4 million.
I thought this was about Kobe to Chicago not about resigning players... thats free ganecy issues lets try to keep the discussion towards Kobe... actually free agency does affect the trade to get KB but can we go back to talking about how realistically Luol Deng can get in a Lakers uni.
To give up Luol Deng and/or Ben Gordon is a joke. I'm laughing as I type this. Those guys along with Hinrich, PLUS a number 9 pick which can go toward a guy like Horford or a good PF is great for the bulls. Not to mention, Thomas getting better and better. Why break up a great young core, for a guy who demands attention. I'm not to sure of this, but I think that Gordon, Deng Hinrich combined have better numbers, which is great for the Bulls because everyone is scoring. If it where Gordon or Bryant, Okay, but it can't happen. If I'm Paxson, as soon as I hear "How about, De..."I hang up.

It is actually the essential piece to a deal. Also, I wouldn't expect Deng to go anywhere. Of any players on this team at all I wouldn't expect Deng, Hinrich, Thomas or Sefolosha to go anywhere anytime soon. I also don't expect nocioni to go anywhere either as Ed brought up a very important piece of information to the discussion I forgot entirely about. Great job there, dude.

I am in the same situation as Blur, if Gordon is the main piece then I'm fine with it. But I'll add in Ben Wallace too, but only if we can fill that void in the middle.
<div class="quote_poster">bruin007 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">U dont mean Gordon for Kobe? Thats one sided and not fair at all... thats jsut being greedy.</div> no he means out of the big five we have (Hinrich, Deng, Wallace, Gordon and Noc) the only one we trade along with picks and other players is Gordon.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Kobe Bryant saga reached new levels of ridiculousness last week when someone claimed to have a video of Bryant standing outside a Southern California shopping mall bashing the Lakers organization. Rumor has it that Bryant mentions playing for the Bulls next season, but so far the alleged video has remained under wraps. A brief, profane sneak preview is available on YouTube. However, there is a Website, www.thekobevideo.com, which promises to reveal details soon on how to watch the video on a pay-per-view basis. Or you can do more constructive things with your life. A source within the Bulls organization said there has been no talk so far about trading for the high-scoring Los Angeles Lakers star.</div> Source: Daily Herald <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> I don't see any way the Lakers trade him. In three-way deals being proposed involving the Bulls, the Lakers would get Paul Pierce, who hasn't even made the playoffs for two years, or Gilbert Arenas, who is as unpredictable as they come. Such trades seem only to benefit the Bulls, which the Bulls appreciate.</div> Source: Chicago Tribune
Ive heard about that video and I honestly think its BS but then again maybe he is doing this to create a media storm that would make Jerry Buss uneasy and really panic and finally fire MItch Kupchak and hire Jerry West the origional demand Kobe had. :/

It would be tough for his teammates to accept him as their leader knowing he doesn't want to be there, with them.

Kobe wants to win a title now, he can't accomplish that with the people around him at the moment and even they know it. If they get offended by that then they are sensitive. I could see some problems between him and Bynum though, but the kid is going to mature when Kobe is past his prime so Bryant has a point in wanting him to leave.

Everyone in that locker room will know Kobe doesn't believe in them, and that would pretty much would make them become bitter towards Bryant when he tries to give them a speech or assume a leadership position during a game (basically they will tune him out).

Next, does it matter? I've watched about 70 Laker games this past season, and I can say only Ronny, Luke, and Lamar seemed to care about every game (Ronny more than anyone else). I don't care what the other scrubs think, nor will they ever win a title and Kobe will opt out in two years if everything remains the same.

It doesn't matter what the reasoning is, he has basically stated he wants a different cast of players around him or to be traded, I doubt that the players on the current roster will just forget that when the season starts. its going to be a very tense locker room is what I'm saying.

Kobe wants a couple more pieces; he doesn't have a problem with anyone he's just saying the truth. If the Lakers expect to compete for a title they have to make roster changes.

He went about this the wrong way with this back and forth "trade me don't trade me" talk through the media. This should have been handled behind closed doors. Obviously, the current roster is not equip to win a title, but as a team leader you can't throw your whole squad under the bus as Kobe has done this off-season. He may not have a problem with anyone personally, but he doesn't want to share a court with them, so why should they follow him next year?

Saying his roster is not as good is like he said "not news" - everyone knows their overall talent level is subpar. If he had called anyone out PERSONALLY then that is different. These guys are grown-ups they will be able to play with him. I think guys like Chris Mihm or other character guys like that are well aware that they're not superstars in this league, so no feelings will be hurt. THe video footage of Kobe saying "ship Bynum's ass out" though could be a problem, but not insurmountable.
