Before draft nigh, when Kobe's trade is announced to the Bulls after they pick for the Lakers at number 9, I just wanted to introduce myself as a new fan. I've always loved Deng's game and I hope Chicago can keep him around in any deal for Kobe. I'm hoping the Lakers can get the number 9, Gordon, Nocioni, and some fillers for Kobe and the 19.

    Hinrich
    Kobe
    Deng
    Thomas
    Wallace

    Best team out east, easy.

I don't see how the Kobe video makes any difference. A lot of Laker fans and I'm sure players feel that way about young Andrew. I'd laugh my ass off if Kobe got traded to Chicago along with Bynum, though.

If he does get traded to Chicago and that is our lineups, I will probably piss my pants, and cry tears of joy. I really hope a trade does happen sooner rather than later I hate when these situations drag out.

I've got a feeling something will happen right before, during, or right after the draft. That's what all of the media reports have stated. I hate to look like a band wagon fan, but I can't fully support an organization ran by money hungry fiends and idiots such as Mitch Kupchak, Jim Buss, and Jerry Buss. I'll still follow the Lakers, but not religiously until those three are out of town.

I know, that's the problem. Anyways, I don't want to hijack the thread.

The only time this offseason that I see this deal possible is when it's draft night, so if no deal is done then, then I don't expect a deal to happen.

    Or, rather, like LeBron.

Bryant wants to be in the East, basically. Ratings might have been down during the Finals, way down, but Bryant obviously didn't miss LeBron James getting to the championship round with a team that has as many roster holes as the current Lakers do.

The working list of teams Bryant is willing to be traded to, as reported by ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher, includes only three teams: Phoenix, Dallas and Chicago.

This would appear to be another of way of saying he's willing to go only to Michael Jordan's old team because Bryant has an unrivaled ability to pick his destination by possessing the NBA's only active no-trade clause and because he knows the Lakers would do anything to send him out of their conference.</div>

Paxson says Lakers have not contacted Bulls about Bryant

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bulls general manager John Paxson denied an ESPN report that the Lakers have contacted the Bulls regarding a possible trade for Kobe Bryant.

While discussing Bryant’s situation on ESPNews, NBA analyst Ric Bucher said the Lakers “have talked to the Chicago Bulls.” Reached by e-mail late Tuesday, Paxson wrote that the report was not true.</div>

There is more in the article. I'm surprized that some ESPN analysts just don't seem to care about accuracy, he didn't get his facts right in this article, and the article on Kobe initially asking for a trade seems to misrepresent the truth or something at the time.

Anyway, I found it kind of surprizing that the Lakers have not talked with the Bulls.

what are you guys willing to give up?

    how about...

Gordon, Nocioni, Thomas or Pj Brown and #9.[IMG]

That would project the lineup you guys invisioned.

That would be a dream scenario if that trade were to ever happen.

I honestly don't think the Bulls can get Kobe without them departing with any type of combination that involed two out of the three core guys (Deng, Gordon, Hinrich), which I highly doubt Paxson would ever do.

But why?? Kobe is the best player in the league and he also can be a teamplayer, im sure that Bulls would get to the finals years in row..[IMG]

Getting to the finals is one thing, winning is entirely different, what's the point of going to the finals and losing? As the Spurs showed this year a good team beats a good individual almost every time in todays NBA. We are not going to trade two players capable of averaging 20 points, Nocioni, and a 9th pick for Kobe. It's ridiculous to even think about it. Especially considering Kobe has stated he is opting out in two years, if the Lakers don't trade him right now. AI got traded for Andre Miller, Joe Smith, and late 1st round picks. You are never going to get equal value for a star in a trade, even more so when other teams no you have to trade him.

Well, we're trying to avoid trading Thomas and #9, as thats basically our future frontcourt, but it's not a terrible trade... Do you think we could we get the 19 in exchange for the 9?

Is a good sig, but blurry as M Two One said.

Kobe to Chicago would be a dream, but not if we give up more than one key player for him.

Ric Bucher said in a recent podcast that if he had to bet his life on where Kobe will be in October, he would say that Kobe has a 0% chance of being a Laker (probably a Bull).

IIRC he was also the one that first reported Kobe wanted a trade, and is close to Bryant.

I'm hoping the Lakers only get Gordon, Nocioni, Brown and the # 9 pick (maybe another pick). That Lineup would blow me away.
