<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And the Los Angeles Lakers are contemplating a deal involving Head in exchange for power forward Brian Cook (6-9, 250 pounds).

The new staff also seems to like the offense 6-10 forward Steve Novak will bring, and the Rockets have the means to finagle salary-cap room by dealing guard Bob Sura. There's also the mid-level exception available to the Rockets.

As the offseason heats up, the options will be many for those in the new regime. Ultimately, though, there's only one option that will suffice. They have to be right.

It seems we have been very active lately, which is good. In this case however, I dont think I can pull the trigger. Book is only a mediocore PF, with 3pt range. I hope this doesnt happen. It also looks like more moves are about to come.

No way should the Rockets even consider this deal.

    I'd keep Head.
he kills in the regular season and with a new game plan for this season, more offensive minded, then he can shine even more.

Cook has got range and can stretch the defense but he is very one-dimensional. If given the playing time, Novak can probably match his production. Hell, bring back Scott Padgett and he'd do a better job.

    [IMG]BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I wouldn't mind Cook on this team, but Luther Head has been great for us. I think Head should retire a Rocket.

[IMG] Forget that!!! I think Luther <font face=""Arial Black""><font size=""3"">should</font></font> be traded but not for a soft player like cook, package him with a draft pick and maybe Sura's contract, I'm sure we could land an impact player.

It says the Lakers are considering it, which infers that the Rockets offered it. [IMG]

I think it's a terrible deal for Houston, Brian Cook is freakin' terrible.

Agreed. IF we were to trade Luther, it has to be a good deal. Luther was great for us in the season and came out as our sixth man. He was one of keys to us winning games especially down the stretch. However, he wasn't himself in the playoffs, and I think that was one of the biggest factors as to why we lost against the Jazz. He averaged less than 5 points in that series compared to his usual 11 with high percentages.

Yup......I agree with just about everybody else on this board. Luther is young, and has miles of potential ahead of him. To ship him off and not get another impact player, we're only gonna lose in that deal. Plus I have a feelin Head's gonna be a bigtime player one day.

why is this even a rumor??????...from what I've seen Cook is a streaky 3-point shooter, who can't defend or rebound..............like everyone in this thread has said keep Luther....he can still become better while Cook has maxed out at a one dimensional shooting big man.
