<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Amar? Stoudemire, vowing to carry the Suns on his ?broad shoulders?, worked out on his own again Tuesday.

?I?m on a mission,? he said. ?Nothing is going to stop me.?

Stoudemire declined to specify that mission, saying only, ?I?m working hard to reach all my goals.?

But he revealed the source of his inspiration.

?The last words my father told me was read Psalms 23 . . . (where) the sky is the limit.

?Those words are motivation for me. I?m not going to stop until I reach the sky.?
Stoudemire believes that for the Suns to win the title, ?All it takes is for me to get better. This team is built around me. . . . It?s up to me to get better and take us over the hump . . . whether we get help or not. I?ve got broad shoulders.?</div>

This is what I love to hear. Amare needs to start busting out his three point range [IMG]

The Last thing Phoenix needs is another 3 point shooter. I would assume hes trying to bulk up and work on his interior game.

Sounds good, staying hungry is the key to anything you do. It's definitely good somebody in the NBA realized that.

I love how this guy's work ethic keeps from people labeling him conceited or arrogant. He backs up his claims and gives people confidence in what he can accomplish for himself and his team. They doubted him when he said he'd come back from the surgeries and make the All-Star team. What happened? He was one 3-pointer from being All-Star game MVP, First Team All-NBA, and is considered one of the most dominant forces in the game today. He exceeded even his own expectations. So if he says he's gonna carry the team to a title, I believe him.

Amare has always been doing this. When he first came into the league he said he wanted to be the GOAT as well. He is a very confident person but I don't know how far he wants to take these type of comments because in some cases it might turn off some of his teammates (see: Marion).

Marion's always going to be a special case. He should not get upset with Amare for the same reasons fans and critics shouldn't get upset, because he delivers. If he was just running his mouth and making claims he doesn't live up to, then there's reason to get upset. Plus, he doesn't put any of his teammate's under the bus. He has never said anything negative about Marion or Diaw not showing up in the playoffs which fans and critics ARE talking about. He has taken the responsibility upon himself to carry the team to the next level, as Nash has. There's other guys in the league *cough*Kobe*cough* that also claim greatness but do it while alienating other teammates purposefully. If Marion feels bad about Amare's success, that's just a self-esteem issue and he needs to grow up and be a professional.

I think Marion is the one that has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to situations involving him and Amare. Marion has done a lot more in his (albeit longer) career than Amare has and still is a more all-around player yet HE is the one who is being thrown under the bus for wanting some props that he obviously deserves. Not saying it's right to be bickering or that Marion is more vital to the teams success (because he really isn't) but I can certainly understand where he's coming from.

He's made a couple of all-star teams (should be more than two probably), made the all-rookie team, renowned as one of the more versatile defenders (yet got jipped from all-defense team), and one of the best rebounders for his size yet Amare comes in talking big and immediately gets more attention. (once again don't take this as me not being excited about Amare wanting to lead this team or anything just speaking strictly from how Marion can see it).

I agree with most if not all of what you said. Marion is one of the best all around players the league has seen in a very long time. I'm just saying he shouldn't ever be jealous of Amare if it's helping the team. If Marion needs an ego boost, maybe he should go out there with a little bit more bravado and look to dominate a game at crunch time. The last couple of seasons, I don't see how having it mentioned during every single game that you are the most underrated player continues to make you underrated. He's the most talked about underrated player. Doesn't that count for something?

Now please don't take any of what I say as Marion bashing. He's my favorite player in the league. I've gotten his autograph every time I've been in the same building as him. He's the only NBA player who's jersey I own. He's even the only NBA player I've thrown a pass to during a game. I would give my left foot to see him play out the rest of his career as a Sun. I just get upset to hear him consider a trade to be the main option on a lesser team. I want him to stay this year, play his heart out, be a key piece in winning a championship, and realize he can do it again if he stays.

I know how you feel man Marion's been my favorite player since the Suns drafted him. I live in Cali so I go to virtually every Suns v. Kings/Warriors game just to see him play. Haven't had the luxury of getting his autograph personally (I do have a rookie card I bought that was signed if that counts for anything) though the closest I came was a Team USA v. China game a couple years back. I need to get an authentic jersey of his though since I just have a cheap replica lol

Anyway the off season can't end soon enough. With all the trade talks and Amare stepping up his training I haven't been this hyped going into a season since really Amare's rookie season after I saw his first game in the summer league.
