Singleton's a good backup. Terrific rebounder for a small forward, and has no problem sitting on the bench. He was playing very well as a starter for the Clippers when Maggette was injured. With James on board Lucas becomes expendable, go for it!

Even since my high school days. I've played a few pickup games with him in high school and he was cocky as hell.

Then I'd come back and brag about in justbball

^I went to BHS with John Lucas. I was a fish and he was a senior. I hooped with his brother Jay Lucas a few times. I think that kids got a shot at making it to the NBA. Emeka Okafor came to my dad's video store, before he sold it, once to see one of our employees who was really good friends with him. He graduated the year before I was a freshman. EDIT: I think we should hang on to John Lucas until the trade deadline to see how he plays under Adleman. Screw Spanoulis, Lucas is proven.
<div class="quote_poster">Umair Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wait a minute, you went to Bellaire High School with John Lucas?</div> Yeah. I've only played one or two pickup games outside with him. I held him on two possesions. First one, he lost the ball, attempting to cross me (I had a hand on the ball). Second one, he tried to drive by me and I stuck with him. He missed the layup. Both times, he bragged to his friends "oohhh I had him", that sort of stuff. I was in quite a bit of classes with Emeka. Even studied with him before in the library. Never figured he would goto the NBA. Always thought he would go the academic route. I even joked to my brother that maybe we should get an autograph in case he became famous .

I used to be able to hoop about 6 or years ago...I suck now, but I can easily get my "Chuck Hayes" on by hustling and rebounding.......lets make that happen.
<div class="quote_poster">Umair Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Lol good story. Were you and Emeka good friends, like tight friends?</div> More of an acquaintance. We didn't hang out together or anything like that. He was friends with a lot of the asians there though . <div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I used to be able to hoop about 6 or years ago...I suck now, but I can easily get my "Chuck Hayes" on by hustling and rebounding.......lets make that happen.</div> Same thing with me. I used to play roughly 3 hours a day in high school. I could also "almost" dunk (can only dunk with small balls since I got small hands). Now, I'm lucky if I can even touch the rim. I'm also 35 pounds heavier, which puts me at normal size. I used to be 130 pounds at 6ft of height and I could eat anything I want! I just started playing recently again, and boy am I out of shape. I get tired after 3 or 4 points. I still got a nose for rebounding though, but most of the time, I end up being too lazy/tired to establish position since the people I play with are over 200 pounds.

My friend Dennis, who's Asian, went to the same HS as Emeka and he'd tell me stories about how after school, he'd go "hey Emeka, let's go play some ball" and Emeka would reply "nah man it's cool. I'm about to play some starcraft." LOL too funny. Apparently Dennis was a relatively good friend of Emeka. He even has Emeka's cell# on his phone!

Does his last name rhyme with who? I think they played together in a 3 on 3 tournament at Bellaire Rec Center.
Yea, I played basketball with him a few times. I was also the one who helped setup that 3 on 3 I mentioned earlier. It was kinda fun and hectic. We had roughly 50 teams that year.
