Yeah, but the 1985 Bears (15-1) went 0-4 in pre-season, too, en route to a Superbowl win. Proof positive that pre-season means nothing.

Not to mention, Ben barely played at all and Hines never played at all. Parker looked very good and the defense looks amazingly fast.

The Steelers were more cautious with their starters than usual this preseason. I wouldn't be worried about how they'll perform in the regular season.

Franchises that know what they are doing use the preseason for what it is. They let their starters get a taste of gamespeed without exposing them to any unnecessary risks. They give the rookies a chance to show what they can do in a new system at an NFL level. And they give players a chance to make the team. The preseason is PRACTICE. If a franchise goes into the preseason looking to win the games rather than look at players and practice plays then they are only hurting their team in the long run. I have heard people say that some coaches look to win the games to change the losing attitude in an organization, but in the end they may not have gotten enough looks at some players and end up making the wrong roster moves.
So, to say the the Steelers did not look good at all in the preaseason makes absolutely no sense. The starting units played well including big ben, they just didnt play for long. Many of the players that saw a majority of the playing time will not even be on the team. That goes for every team out there. It's still Football, yes, it's just not the same Teams you are going to see in week 1.
The Colts went winless last preseason.....that turned out pretty well didn't it?

when ben was in he was pretty sharp so i expect a good year. I think Santonio Holmes will be a beter number 2 WR than Randel El in 2 years
