According to sources, the Bulls still are very interested in Kevin Garnett, but the offer they would put together for him now wouldn't be as good as it was last February.

Bulls GM John Paxson likely would have put together an attractive offer that included Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, P.J. Brown (for salary-cap purposes) and what proved to be the ninth pick in next week's draft.

Now, Deng is likely off the table entirely. Although they probably would be willing to give up Ben Gordon or Thomas, including both in a trade is unlikely. [READ]

Garnett talk is back again, but this time because the Wolves have been talking to teams for his value.

I think if there is a chance of getting KG without giving up Deng or Hinrich, why not take it. Imagine that front court.

    PG- Hinrich
    SG-9th Pick
    SF-Deng
    PF-Garnett
    C- Wallace

Unless we have to give up the 9th pick, why not take it. Gordon/Noch/Duhon/9th maybe.

i really dont believe a lot of articles anymore. i think writers/media just want a big trade to happen over the offseason. Y is all of a sudden when we just need a post-player like Collison and another solid bench player every superstar name should be on the Bulls list to acquire?

I doubt we will be able to get KG unless he demands a trade to Chicago. The Celtics package will be very hard to top, and I don't even think we should try. KG would be nice, but at the same time we would have to mortgage our future to get him, we also have to keep in mind that he can opt out after next season.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The proposed trade that would have sent Kevin Garnett to Boston, agreed to in principle by ex-teammates Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge, was taken off the table Thursday after Garnett got word to the Celtics that he doesn't want to play for them.

Garnett, according to sources close to the situation, is hoping for a trade to the Phoenix Suns if he has to leave the only team he has ever played for.

"The Boston trade isn't happening," Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."

It appears that Wolves management -- McHale and owner Glen Taylor -- is prepared for the first time to make a deal that would end the Garnett Era in Minneapolis after 12 seasons. Taylor, according to Wolves sources, has informed Garnett directly of that change in philosophy.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bulls seem perfectly content to head into next season with their current group of players, knowing Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah can give them one of the most athletic front lines in the league.

Then again, it’s impossible for general manager John Paxson to ignore Minnesota’s sudden willingness to part with Kevin Garnett.

Timberwolves boss Kevin McHale swears some of the rumors were false, and maybe they were. But where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.

Multiple reports emerged in the days leading up to the draft claiming Minnesota was willing to send Garnett to Boston for the No. 5 pick, Al Jefferson and Gerald Green; to Phoenix for Atlanta’s No. 3 and 11 picks and Marvin Williams; or to Golden State for Brandan Wright, Andris Biedrins, Monta Ellis and Al Harrington.</div>
