<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> June 21, 2007 -- Sorry, Kobe. Nets GM Ed Stefanski has no plans of reigniting trade talks with the Lakers regarding Jason Kidd in an Andrew Bynum package. Kobe Bryant is shown on a parking-lot videotape cursing Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak's decision not to accede to the Nets' demands last February and add Bynum to a proposed trade. The Nets, on the verge of missing the playoffs, would have done the deal then. They won't now, not with the Eastern Conference so wide open after the Cavaliers' run to the NBA Finals. That's not good news for the Lakers - another run at Kidd could pacify Bryant's rage. "I am very happy Jason Kidd is a New Jersey Net," Stefanski told The Post yesterday after a pre-draft workout. "I love Jason Kidd. We're very happy with Jason. He may have had his best year of his career." </div> Source: NY Post Coming soon, amateur video of Kobe Bryant Part II, when he finds out Jason Kidd will not be a Laker.
Well, I bet Kobe Bryant is killing his voodoo doll of Andrew Bynum and Jim Buss right now. In the mean time, Andrew Bynum is giving Jim Buss some nice oral appreciation if you know what I mean. Whatever, it's old news, I didn't expect them to get another shot at Kidd. Now we can't screw up on Jermaine.
**** Jermaine. I've had it with Kobe, just trade him and start over. He won't be happy here, because we won't be able to get a championship-caliber team any time soon. So what if we get Jermaine? There are teams out there with players that, combined, are worth more (say you had some kind of point system for how good a player is) than Kobe and Jermaine. The Spurs, the Suns (although they haven't proven anything), Detroit... I'd much rather see the Lakers save Bynum and trade Kobe for some young up-and-coming players, and some draft picks.

I agree, it isn't good for the Lakers to keep him anyway, he is a mad and frustrated superstar that wants to win now. That is not going to happen in the west with the team we can acquire. Follow Jim Buss's plan and just rebuild, Kobe is over.
