It's not so much luck, what this team is in need of is heart. Brand is as hard a worker as there is in this league, but even he tends to fade when the Clippers need him most. Maggette is their silent assasin but not someone you can always depend on when the game is on the line. The team consists of inconsistent players with no killer instinct. That's why the team struggled last year when Sam started missing a lot of time. I believe this team is one player away from being an elite team in the west, and I've felt that way for years now. They need a vocal leader who they can depend on in the clutch. When the yearly trade rumors of Iverson to L.A. started up again last year that was the reason I really wanted that trade to go through.

What they need is another solid veteran player who could avg. 15 pts any given night.

Clippers need a veteran player SF or SG and they need Cassel to start playing like the season before and Kaman needs to step us his game.

They just need one player with a killer instinct. A consistent scorer. Someone like Kobe, AI, Melo, Pierce, Arenas, hell even someone like Ben Gordon would take this team to new heights. Like Phreeze said, we're so close to being really good it's not even funny.

Well, your coach obviously doesn't like Maggette and wants him gone. If You guys end up with Mike Dunleavy Jr., consider the season lost. If you could flip, say, Cassell and Maggette to the... um... to the somebody for something, that would be a good start. Didn't Charlotte just waive Brevin Knight? I'm sure they could use a vet like Cassell and a swingman like Maggette, in case Wallace doesn't resign. That ought to be enough to snag you one of their good young players.

What does that have to do with Maggette and Cassell? You can't trade a player you waived, and Maggette and Cassell's value is MUCH MORE than Brevin Knights. The Clippers can't be trading any PG's right now, and they can get Knight without any trades.

Right, I'm suggesting they sign Knight, hence filling the Cassell's spot. At this juncture, I'd be wary of hoping for another season out of Sam. He likely still has some trade value, though, if packaged with Maggette. That's what I meant to suggest.

Oh alright, I think the Clippers are going after Steve Francis, not that I really like that, but whatever. I think Cassell is a guy to keep around if it's not neccesary to move him, whatever happens, he's $6 million expiring.

I'd like to trade Maggette, but only if something good can be gotten. There's no need trading him just for trading sake as he should opt out, and is another expiring $8 million for the team. The Clippers will have a lot of money if Maggette and Brand opt out, and Livingston and Sam become a free agent. The team goes over $30 million under the cap.
