In this thread you can go ahead and discuss the KG trade situation and make your own unrealistic trade proposals. I'll start with my completely realistic trade proposal that will trump all of you guys' (though I'll have a hard time competing with the Lakers fans proposals of Odom, Vlad Rad, and a 2011 second round pick). Warriors send: Jason Richardson ($11,111,111) Al Harrington ($8,425,625) Monta Ellis ($770,610) Patrick O'Bryant ($2,216,400) 07 first round pick (#18) 08 first round pick Total: $22,523,746 Timberwolves send: Kevin Garnett ($22,000,000) Troy Hudson ($5,953,000) Total $27,953,000 Warriors' lineup after trade: PG: Baron/Hudson SG: Jackson/Azubuike/Pietrus* SF: Barnes*/Jackson/Azubuike PF: KG/Barnes*/Powell C: Biedrins/KG/Powell/Foyle *Free agents, could be replaced by second round picks (Reyshawn Terry, Demitris Nichols, Dominic McGuirre) T'Wolves' lineup after trade: PG: Foye/Ellis/Jaric SG: Richardson/McCants/Ellis SF: R. Davis/Harrington/Hassell PF: Juwan Howard/Harrington/C. Smith C: Blount/C. Smith/O'Bryant Analysis: Golden State gives up a lot but gets KG who will immediately make one of their biggest weaknesses their main strength. It may seem like they're overpaying but Minnesota will probably want Biedrins, if GS doesn't give him up they will have to give a lot extra. Pairing KG and Biedrins in the frontcourt while retaining Baron and Stephen Jackson in the backcourt is worth giving up so much. Their roster is scant but they should have no problem filling it in with cheap, capable role players via free agency and the second round of the draft where Golden state has the 36 and 46 picks. The Timeberwolves take this package because they receive the most talent back and can start to rebuild immediately. They don't want Phoenix's offer with Marion as the centerpiece because Marion is already 29 years old and will opt out after one year, leaving them with little to show for moving KG. Chicago refuses to give up enough yougn talent to land KG, they seem to not want to give up Deng at all but they would have to give up Deng to get KG, even if they were to surrender Deng, they would never add Tyrus Thomas, Ben Gordon, etc. to complete the trade. If Chicago ever grows a pair and really goes balls out to land KG they can do it easily, but their GM seems to be enamored with their current young talent that is really just a bunch of perimeter players that will never be true stars. The Lakers are a possibility as well but their offer would have to include Odom and Bynum. I don't think the Wolves would want Odom to build around since hes going to be 28 this coming season, hes making max, and hes proven that hes just a good complimentary player with a lot of mental weakness. Not to mention the only place hes been able to put all of his talent together is with LA under Phil in the triangle, I don't know if the Wolves want to risk taking him on a max deal with 3 years left when hes been a failure outside of LA. Although the W's offer doesn't have any superstar big men it does have a ton of talent along with some good veteran players. Richardson is a proven 22+ ppg scorer and just entering his prime and he has a very fair contract. Ellis is a 21 year old MIP coming off a great season and should be an all-star calibur player in a few years. Harrington is a combo forward, great 3 pt shooter, would be a great super-sub 6th man. O'Bryant is a decent young C, very athletic and has a good jumpshot and hook in the post. Plus they get two first round picks and drop Hudson's contract.
I think the trade has it's moments, but I doubt KG goes but Phoenix. Even though the T'Wolves were high on Pattycake last year, they like Hawes quite a bit. Suns could offer much more with Amare Stoudemire, so I think that's the only team that has anything worth mentioning.

That's a strong package from Golden State and would make sense for Minnesota to pull the trigger on, but I just think that they can get better offers, like this one - Minnesota Trades: Kevin Garnett and the #41 pick Indiana Trades: Jermaine O'Neal, Danny Granger, and Shawne Williams The #41 is just because Indiana gives up a lot of youth in that trade and are apparently looking to trade into the draft as is.

He'd be better off accepting the Boston trade and playing with Paul Pierce. He would be in an even worse scenario than Minny playing on a team that has NO young talent while trying to cover Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy's asses the entire game.

Anyway, I keep trying to work KG for Amare scenarios, but none of them seem to work cap-wise. Does anyone have one that does?

I guess his list is suppose to come out in 2 days where he wants to go.
I wonder if he sees Washington as a winner. They can package a deal of Arenas, Thomas, Haywood, and the #16 pick for Garnett and still be a contender: Starters: Daniels/Stevenson/Butler/Jamison/Garnett Bench: Hayes (?), Songaila, Pecherov, Free agents In the East, that'd be one of the top teams next season.
I doubt the Wolves would want Arenas because he just had a pretty serious injury NBA wise and he can opt out of his contract next year too.....
<div class="quote_poster">J_Ray Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I doubt the Wolves would want Arenas because he just had a pretty serious injury NBA wise and he can opt out of his contract next year too.....</div> He suffered a major injury, but it wasn't of Shaun Livingston proportions, and if he opts out, then the T-Wolves just wind up with a lot of cap room. Besides, he may not want to opt out if he winds up in Minnesota. Either way, I get the impression that Garnett, not McHale, is in the driver seat.

They get Washington's old trash, who he hates already, and Minnesota don't have much after KG either.

And even if he does leave, that's major cap room for Minnesota. Okay, so scrap that one if you want. How's this one? Minnesota Trades: Kevin Garnett, Rashad McCants, #7 pick Memphis Trades: Rudy Gay, Mike Miller, Stromile Swift, Damon Stoudamire, Brian Cardinal, #4 pick It sounds like a big price for Minnesota to pay, but if they're really looking to rebuild and go in a younger direction, then Gay and the draft pick upgrade are huge additions. Minnesota's post-trade lineup: PG - Randy Foye/Damon Stoudamire SG - Mike Miller/Marko Jaric SF - Rudy Gay/Ricky Davis PF - Brandan Wright/Craig Smith C - Stromile Swift/Mark Blount The potential of those three players in bold as a unit is off the charts.
heres my unrealistic addition... From minn: KG Change in team outlook: -1.8 ppg, -4.7 rpg, and -2.1 apg From Sac: Miller, Thomas and Rahim Change in team outlook: +1.8 ppg, +4.7 rpg, and +2.1 apg. RealGM trade ID 4053764. So, would Minny want Miller Thomas and Rahim? its better than having a sulking and unhappy KG on the floor and mixes things up a bit for them. And would KG want to go to sac in the first place? Im thinking Theus and Petrie could convince him that it would be a good place but that doesnt mean that everyone else involved would go for it.
Clevelend Sends Larry Hughes Drew Gooden Damon Jones Minnesota Sends Kevin Garnett Minny Roster Hughes/Foye/Jones Brewer/Hudson/Jaric Davis/Hassell/McCants Gooden/Juwan Howard/Smith Blount/Madsen Cleveland Roster Snow/Gibson Pavlovic/Brown/Wesley LeBron/Marshall/Newble KG/Varejao Ilgauskas/Jones

Works great for both teams. No way Minnesota can refuse this offer.
Minny might have to throw in a few draft picks to make this deal go through. Larry Hughes is a super-star and Gooden is a borderline star who can get you double double.............................................
OK how about Cleveland Sends Varejao(S&T) Hughes Gibson Future first Minny Sends Juwan Howards contract KG
^I like that better, and no way hughes would play the point and brewer would start over Foye lol. You can verajao though. I really like this from minny's standpoint and cleveland would instantly win the east i'd think. Toobad they would struggle against whoever wins the west unless they can add another solid guard and some depth
I don't know if Utah and Minny would want to deal with each other since they are division rivals, but the Spurs didn't mind trading with the Rockets. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...&teams=16~16~26 Utah sends Kirilenko Okur Minny Sends KG Rosters Minny Foye/Hudson/Jaric Davis/McCants/Hassell Kirilenko/Brewer Okur/Howard/Smith Blount/Madsen Utah Williams/Hart Giricek/Brewer Almond/Harpring Boozer/Millsap KG/Collins http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...ams=16~16~26~26 The deal works with or without Trenton Hassel.
