<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Hardly a day goes by that 76ers president and general manager Billy King doesn't hear some far-fetched trade rumor. He said he took one call Friday from another team, with the person on the other end saying, "I heard you're getting Kevin Garnett." That was news to King, considering that he would have to trade practically his entire starting five to come close to matching Garnett's $21 million salary with the Minnesota Timberwolves. "I did talk to Minnesota," King said, "but not about Garnett." The Timberwolves have the No. 7 pick in the NBA draft on Thursday. The Sixers hold the Nos. 12, 21 and 30 picks in the first round. King has admitted that if there's a player he likes, who he doesn't think will be available at No. 12, he would try to move up to get him.</div> Source: Delaware Online
<div class="quote_poster">Smitty Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Billy, please do it and draft Corey Brewer..</div> I don't think we are targeting Brewer, unless I'm mistaken, we haven't even brought him in for a work out as of this point. I think King would trade up only for Green, Yi, or sadly Hawes.
Now King is thinking. With some luck, Brandon Wright or Jianlin could be available. Green would add some depth to this team, as we could have him start and have both Korver and Willie Green coming off the bench and providing a scoring punch. We really need a PF though so we can move Hunter back to the bench and restore our frontcourt depth. For this draft to be a successful one, the sixers really need to trade up and get a potential big time player.
