You know whats funny, the fact there is actually a Wrestling HOF, considering its all predetermined, its basically luck of the draw as to who gets pushed and who doesnt.

Attorney: Couple argued over care of mentally retarded 7-year-old son
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> ATLANTA -- In the days before pro wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and child and hanged himself, the couple argued over whether he should stay home more to take care of their mentally retarded 7-year-old son, an attorney for the wrestling league said Wednesday.

Authorities are investigating whether steroids may have been a factor in the deaths of Chris Benoit, above, his wife and child.

"I think it's fair to say that the subject of caring for that child was part of what made their relationship complicated and difficult, and it's something they were both constantly struggling with," said Jerry McDevitt, an attorney for World Wrestling Entertainment. "We do know it was a source of stress and consternation."

McDevitt said the wrestling organization learned from the couple's friends and relatives that the Benoits were struggling with where to send the boy to school since he had recently finished kindergarten.

He also said Benoit's wife didn't want him to quit wrestling, but she "wanted him to be at home more to care for the kid. She'd say she can't take care of him by herself when he was on the road."

The child suffered from a rare medical condition called Fragile X Syndrome, an inherited form of mental retardation often accompanied by autism, McDevitt said.</div>

Yeah I thought of that at first when I first heard about a WWF HOF, but then I figured they put wrestlers in there that work their asses off and are the best in the ring based on what they can do to entertain.

Most of them are fan favs. and people that have raised the ranks. Look at Stone Cold and The Rock. Those guys are deff. legends. Chris Benoit would have been one 2 because he's been wrestling for like 15 years.

It seems like something straight from a movie. It's crazy when you bottle up your emotions and become depressed.

    EDIT:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">News of Nancy Benoit's death was inexplicably posted on Wikipedia 14 hours before the police discovered the bodies. This was initially reported on Wikinews and later on FOXNews.com. The original posting read: “Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The phrase "stemming from the death of his wife Nancy" was added to the English Wikipedia's "Chris Benoit" article at 12:01 a.m. EDT on June 25, whereas the Fayette County police reportedly discovered the bodies of the Benoit family at 2:30 p.m. EDT (14 hours, 29 minutes later). The IP address of the editor was traced to Stamford, Connecticut, which is also the location of WWE headquarters.</div>

No. Benoit smothered his kid on Friday, strangled his wife Saturday, and hung himself on Sunday/early Monday.

I don't understand how someone could do that. Also on a random note i guess, his son had a mental disability too. Just it seems to fake, how someone could do this...Make me think that someone had to be born with a mind liek this, I could never just kill someone or my family like that, you gotta have a criminal mind for it.

Roid rage. That's what the police report is saying. I don't understand it though. It's not like someone can just get roid rage and randomly kill his family and himself. I can see if he commits suicide but kill his poor innocent son and his wife.

I never heard of this clown until now. Wrestling is the dumbest thing ever.
This is an interesting case though from a crime point of view.

Well the guy was a famous wrestler and really good. If you didn't watch wrestling, then obviously you didn't know him.

You heard about the professor who lives in Connecticut who altered his wikipedia entry to say his wife was dead HOURS before the cops found her, right? So it may not have been roid rage, but a weird conspiracy of some kind.

Now they are saying it was a weird coincidence. I think Vince McMahon knew about it and he's covering it up.

Even if he was depressed and stuff, he should have just killed himself. You have to be a sick person to take out your family.

End-stage depressed people don't know what they're doing anymore. No offense at all, but you don't understand what depression really is to write that. Depression isn't about feeling sad or cutting yourself like many teenagers do. I don't mean that to insult you by any means, I'm just making an explaination for you, bro. People that become severely depressed suffer uncontrollably and usually never bring the issue out in the open. They keep it locked away and it builds up to that point of end-stage depression where the mind can't control rational thoughts anymore.

This was likely the cause of Benoit to do what he did. Either that or roid-rage, but we may likely never know for sure because even with a testing you cannot detect steroids in the body if they've only been using them for a short period of time. It has to be over a year of use to be detectable once the person is deceased.

No offense taken, I don't know alot about end-stage depression. It's just hard to fathom someone getting THAT depressed where they would kill their family. I've taken anti-depressants after my mom died and i've never come close to that, end-stage must be wayyyy on another level.

I'm sorry to read about the death of your mother, that must've been very hard. How're you doing these days though? As for end-stage depression it is hard to fathom unless you have experienced it with someone first hand or studied it. I studied it, but strange enough it ended up hitting close to my family and of course I will not discuss the matter on a forum, but I know what it is like and you cannot hate the person for doing such a thing. They're suffering beyond their own control. They go about their lives as if nothing is wrong, buy new things, have a regular week, etc. One day, one moment really and boom, they're killed a loved one (or loved ones in the Benoit case) and try to commit suicide afterwards. Most of the time, the suicide attempt fails, they go to mental institutions for a year and then receive short prison sentances. As I mentioned earlier, the majority (90 percent I'd say) that get out even if they seem fine they will go right back to attempting suicide. When you get to that point of depression there is usually no hope. From what I know of based on studies most people at that point never recover. It is really sad and very horrible to imagine the suffering they must be experiencing in the heat of the moment when they kill or attempt suicide.

Like I stated in a other thread Don Moroco said that Benoits wife was in to
satanism and was like a high ranking person in that cult. Then after that I hear there was bibles by their bodies. He was on some amityville horror ish.
Neways this is just so shocking.
