^^ It better cause I'm really tired. But I think that Kobe was just blowing off some steam so the front office will get to work. Kobe is very passionate about the team thats why he was blowing the steam.
That seems like a pretty fair deal. You would probably have to throw in the #19 pick, but finally there is a deal in the Lakers forum that is pretty fair for all parties involved.
Hopefully this deal goes through. I can't see how Kobe would be displeased with something like this. I'd really hope that acquiring KG would shut him up and realize that his team just became a contender.
He should not shut up till something happens though and if it does then he will be happy and so will alot of laker fans.
And isnt there some deal like sasha, brian cook, and a pick for bonzi and luther head. I mean thats getting more players right there to help us contend. But were going to have a huge hole at the center.
I'm not worried too much about the center spot. If this does happen, I don't care that we lose our two main centers from last year. We get KG, and that pretty much slaps the contender status on us. He completely transforms our team. He gives us an inside-out attack that we've lacked for a while. He also automatically improves our defense. He's a great shot blocker and an overall good defender. Plus, you also have to realize that we still have Chris Mihm whom we SHOULD be able to resign for cheap, and if he comes back fully healthy, he can fill the void at center quite nicely. He's got the ability to be a double double guy, it's just a matter of staying out of foul trouble, something he has never been able to do. Regardless of that, I could care less about that center void, as long as we can land KG, it wouldn't bother me at all.
So I wonder how close this is to happening, honestly- besides Amare who else out there can offer a better deal? Also, Amare straight up for KG may be a better deal talent wise, that leaves the wolves off the same as before (if not worse). Amare can't create his own shots like Garnett can. By dealing with the Lakers, the Wolves fill multiple positions, a few of which will be around for a while (draft pick plus Bynum). Makes sense to me
You think it will take awhile for this new team to learn the system and mesh well enough to contend though?
Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff and the #5(with fillers and possibly Gerald Green) would be a much better deal for the Twolves then the Lakers are offering, but who knows if the Celtics would do it.

I've heard if anything is official, it will be tomorrow morning before Glen Taylor and his wife leave for a vacation in China.

KG does not want to play in Boston. He has made that clear as day.
Wow this is the most exciting news I've heard in ages. Kobe and Garnett really I don't care too much what the rest of the team would be but the next biggest concern would be the PG if we got the KG deal to go through. I'm sure we can pick someone up who's better than Smush but what are the options we have? Would be great if Stern could just go behind the scenes and help the trade go through because he knows this would help the poor ratings but obviously he can't.

Our bench was actually deep last year if it werent for the injuries... if the kg deal pulls thru it would be... Farmar/Vujacic (I hope to god that they get a good FA) Kobe/Evans Walton/cook KG/vlad Mihm/turiaf ill give it a B
I apologize for not being on much lately, but I really hope this deal gets done. A Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett duo will be pretty much unstoppable. Come on Mitch, let's get this deal done!
<div class="quote_poster">LBJ2006MVP Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">yeah it sounds like a good deal, but imagine KG opt out next year and Kobe follows him lmao. I see combo of Kobe+KG getting into 2nd round, but not passing through it. Just because it takes more than 2 players to carry the team in the west. Example T-mac,Yao,Nash Amare and they do have a great bench, Looser and Williams. In my opinion it takes atleast 3 players or may be 4. I don't see anyone besides KG and Kobe stepping up in LALLA LAND.</div> Sorry to break it to you, but the duos of Nash/Amare and TMac/Yao aren't nearly as good as a Kobe/KG duo. That duo may even be better than Shaq and Kobe.
