Charlotte Trade Breakdown Outgoing Brevin Knight 2007 Draft #08 Pick Incoming Lamar Odom L.A. While both players are unlikely to end up in Charlotte, the Bobcats could be helpful in a deal because of their wealth of salary cap space. "I think we're going to defer talking about those players. I will say we have no problems being facilitators," Bickerstaff said.</div> http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/bask...t.ap/index.html Now, Bernie has basically got himself intoxicated and left himself for the taking here, now is Mitch dirty and will he take advantage of Bernie....or does Mitch play Mr. Right and ignore this? This is so freakin obvious, Bernie wants in. I've heard numerous rumors that the Bobcats want Odom...Do it Mitch!
Another contradiction on Suns rumors. Supposedly they're dangling Shawn Marion to Charlotte for the 8th pick...but they're also dangling him to Boston for KG, doesn't make sense. I think KG is a smoke screen on their front to worry the Lakers, it doesn't make sense that Boston would accept Marion and Minnesota will only accept the 5th plus Ratliff. If Bernie really wants to get involved, which I find obvious, then this deal should be easier than expected. Send Odom to Charlotte, the 8th to Minnesota along with Brevin Knight, Andrew Bynum, Kwame Brown, and Sasha to Minnesota, KG to the Lakers. If the rumored Head deal does go down on draft night, the Lakers starting L: Head Kobe Walton (re-signed) KG MLE I still don't see that as a contender, to be honest with you.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Man, that's some slick GM'ing by Kerr though (if this does happen).</div> Any decent GM could entice any team in giving up their all star if you have such movable/tradable pieces like marion, diaw, barbosa, etc
I think both Lakers deal and Suns deal for KG make sense for all parties. What Minnesota is doing right now is weigh all the options, the more teams and different scenarios they have the better deal they will potentially get (learned it in negotiation class). I hope LA deal will work out in the end because I am a Lakers fan. I also think it would be better for the league to watch new improved Lakers play still very good Suns instead of just Suns killing everyone in the league.
If the Suns are able to get Kevin Garnett...it IS a wrap for everybody else. Amare and KG would definitely enough to dethrone the Spurs.

I'm telling you, having Kobe and KG on the court at the same time, makes the game that much easier for everyone else out there. Guys won't have to play out of their comfort zones and the defense improves immediately with KG patrolling the paint. The Lakers would need to get a big body, and I like the prospect of going after Oberto from San Antonio. He just opted out, and I think using a portion of the MLE would be enough. PG - Head SG - Kobe SF - Walton PF - KG C - Oberto This is a starting five built for post season success. You have outside shooting, rebounding, two players who can dismantle the zone defense (Kobe & KG) and long players capable of covering a lot of ground. You won't see the Lakers getting pick and rolled to death anymore with this lineup out there. Luke would be the only defensive liability on the court, but where's his man going to go if he gets by Luke? Right into a wall of two 7 footers.
Mchale trying to get Boston involve what jerk but ,if Charlotte wants Odom will give Odom to them.An we will land KG but i don't think Mitch will be able to do a trade like this.
ESPN radio right now is saying that BOS just pulled out of the deal to acquire Marion today. So MIN and PHO are trying to negotiate with ATL to get the No. 3 pick.
It's a terrible deal for Minny, I can't believe they'd take that over all the other offers they've received (not just the Laker ones). I'd put my money on Parker, Manu, and Duncan controlling the west over Nash, Marion, and Garnett.

Former ex-Phoenix Sun Jalen Rose was on ESPN radio about 10 mins ago: Nothin' much... - Says if he were Suns GM, he would not trade Amare for KG - Believes no one in the league will let the Suns get KG without giving up Amare - Believes the Lakers probably have the best chance of landing KG
I don't see much else happening. Mchale always dangles KG over a barrel of fish in water, and right when someone is about to bite he pulls up the lure just high enough that it's out of reach.
