Well, The Lakers seem like they truly are done now... The Kevin Garnett trade to Phonix seems done. Which means LA cannot be a contendor for the nest 4-5 years. Kobe probably knows this. Now, where should Kobe go to? Chicago dosen't seemed to be interested now... Today and tommrow are big days. Any trade that points to rebuilding has to be done today or tommorow. Or should we take the Jo trade that is reported is on the table for Bynum and Odom. We would then have just Kobe and JO, which is not enough do anything in the west. Ric Bucher has stated that Kobe still wants to leave, the only thing that could have stoped Kobe from leaving was getting KG. So with the kind of position we are in right now, what should we do? Trade Kobe? Where to? It seems as we have hit the bottom and we have to make some type of trade today or tommorow. [IMG] [IMG]

I'm in for trading Kobe, for a draft pick plus some other young players, or to a team that could give us at least three proven players (like Chicago). If the Lakers goes after a draft pick and some young players, then maybe they can go after a big name free agent in a year or two. The fact that LA doesn't seem to be able to make a big trade (for KG, JO or whoever), and the fact that Kobe doesn't want to play for the Lakers, should give the management reason enough to do what I propose - but of course, they probably won't.

if Chicago doesn't want Kobe, we'll take him... thats the only place he would want to go unless you trading him to the PHX lmao.... KG,Nash,Kobe,Marion/Amare ....Dream team. I know don't have enough talent for Kobe but if Chicago won't break up their group the only destination would be Knicks town I guess.

I don't get why he would want to go to NYC though... Sure it's a big market, but so is LA, and it's not like the Knicks have any chanse of contending in the near future. The only thing there for Bryant that I see is a management which has yet to lie to him (on that list is also ever other team in the league except for LAL's).

The Lakers should start the rebuilding process now since their front office can not get a deal done to get KG or even Jermaine O'Neal. I think they should re-build around Andrew Bynum and get him to work real hard and become a dominant big man. They already have Jordan Farmar who I think could be 12 points, 9 assists type of guy. If you guys do trade Kobe, trade him for a 5-10 draft pick and some more younger players to have around Bynum to compliment him.

With the way things are going Kobe will defiantly demand yet again, another trade so I see the GM pushing hard to possibly get a lottery draft pick to get another big name player who could hit their prime during the same time as Bynum and Farmar so the Lakers could become a top team once again in the dominant western conference. The Lakers simply do not have the pieces they need to trade for Kevin Garnett and I have no clue what's happening in the Jermaine O'Neal trade scenario.

So all you guys need to do right now is re-build around Bynum by getting a lottery pick and a few more players to be around him and make his job easier and take the pressure of off him in the near future when or if he becomes a beast. I don't know if Phil Jackson would continue to coach the Lakers or not, so start looking for possible head coach replacements right now until the time he leaves the organization. You guys have a bright future ahead of you, so don't waste your time now with the best player in the game and rebuild.

For the billionth time, LBJ, Kobe wants to win now, not go to the worst team in the league. So you quit it with all the Kobe to New York rumors cause it isn't going down.

If the KG deal doesn't get rerouted to LA then the Lakers are better off letting Kobe walk at the end of this year and using all that cap space from him and Kwame to sign free agents. The Lakers don't want a bunch of stiffs with long term contracts like they got stuck with in the Shaq deal. Let Kobe have his farewell tour and then go after some new blood.
