<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Wednesday, sources say one of the Hawks owners vetoed a hypothetical deal for Stoudemire. </div> ESPN
Hawks owner had nothing to do with the deal being dead. The Suns not wanting to give up Amare Stoudemire and never even contemplating this trade is what made the deal dead. There really weren't even talks to send Amare to Atlanta in the first place. Basically what ESPN is doing is getting their 1 million different sources to come up with 1 million different trade "rumors" so they can hopefully hit on one and say they broke the news first.

So I know this is an impossible task, but objectively- laker fan or not. If you're the T-Wolves, which is the better deal for Garnett: Bynum and Odom or the #3 & #11 picks with contracts? Personally, I think the wolves should take the picks. With the number 3 number 7 and number 11 picks the Wolves could pull of a huge trade to bring in a super star on draft night, or with smart choices could potentially draft 3 super stars.
<div class="quote_poster">Laker_fan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'm starting to feel that Garnett is going nowhere.</div> Chad Ford was on the radio earlier today, and said KG likely won't be traded prior to the draft (essentially today), but he doesn't expect him in a Timberwolves jersey to start the season. He went on to say, it's ironic three of the worst GM's in the league can't seem to figure out how to get a deal done (McHale, Billy Knight, & Kupchak.) He said the Timberwolves are in the driver's seat and said they are going to have to settle for less if they don't get a deal before the draft begins. Teams are more reluctant to trade rookies once they've been drafted, and teams are aware KG will likely opt out next summer, so McHale is going to get low-balled now.

<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">That's not ironic at all, it's more expected, don't you think?</div> Ironic in the sense it comes down to these three trying to get together to decide the fate of one of the league's best player.

It's ironic that it's in their hands. Anyways, I never thought this trade was going to work. Why would the Suns swap Amare and KG?
KG and Kobe opting out in 08 Can you imagine the havoc it would cause if KG and Kobe opt out at the end of this season and both decide to go to one team of their choosing? It definitely would not be the Lakers or TWolves. How about joining Elton Brand on the Clippers? That would be hilarious All of Hollywood would be lining up to buy Clipper courtside seats.
