<u>Will McDyess Opt For Houston?</u> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jun 28 - Antonio McDyess hasn't officially picked up his option for the $6.3 million he will make next season -- but you have to believe he will. The Pistons have already indicated that they would sit down and try to work out an extension with McDyess, starting at that $6.3 million. Now, here's something to think about. McDyess lives in Houston. Houston needs frontcourt help. Houston would probably love to offer McDyess their mid-level exception, if he opted out. If McDyess thinks the Pistons will lose his buddy Chauncey Billups to free agency, the Houston option might become more attractive. The thing is, though, time is running out. McDyess has to make his decision by the close of business Friday. -- Detroit News</div> <div align="center"></div> I didnt think this would work at first, because who would turn down $6.3 million dollars? But McDyess lives in Houston and Houston could use some front court assistance. Might be a good fit for him.
McDyess I think would be a perfect fit here, he has a good jumpshot can still rebound and shoots a high percentage. But at 33 I hope we don't sign him for any more than 2 years.
I talked about this a while back. He is more than likely looking for security in his deal for at least 4 years. No way was he going to stay with his contract around the MLE for 1 more year. That starting job between Yao TMac and Shane is there for his taking.
Well good move for him, not so good news for the Houston fans. We might still be able to land him in a trade as an one-year rental.
