Marc Gasol is solid this late... I really wanted Josh Mcroberts but Marc has a shot too and can actually rebound... Needs to lose weight this summer and work on his quickness other than that a solid backup for the PF position... Sun Yue I'm not sure about we struggled with communication this past year and from what I hear he doesnt speak English but then again he basketball players can communicate through the game... Javaris I dont know about either too young... when are we going to stop developing players and start the process of seeing talent I say package him and Bynum for a solid veteran.
Not to mention, it is also nice if you have a billionair owner. Damn the Portland is a huge winner, and Bobcat is a big loser.

Sun Yue and Marc Gasol? I hate both these picks. Sun Yue is years away from contributing to the Lakers. I'm not even sure he would make the Lakers NBDL team at this point. The kid is rail thin and hasn't played against high level competition. How do the Lakers pass on Byars and take Sun Yue? If they really wanted Sun Yue they could have drafted him at 49. Speaking of 49, Marc Gasol? Why? He's a big, strong post player, but doesn't have a high ceiling for potential. He's going to be one of those players who averages more fouls per minutes than points and rebounds combined. The much better pick would have been Herbert Hill. He's made drastic improvements in college, has a freakish wingspan, and would be the athletic power forward this team desperately needs. A guy who can run the floor and defend the likes of Amare, KG, etc. Herbert Hill has a quick second jump, and gets after rebounds and blocks.

He struggled at times last year in GTech, but that had more to do with a lousy coach than Crittenton's ability. I've seen Crittenton dominate games with his offense. He's very strong and knows how to finish around the rim. He has Triangle experience from high school and tested high during the workouts. Apparently, the Lakers give a test to all the potential draftees on their knowledge of the Triangle offense. Crittenton had one of the best scores. Drafting him will also push Jordan Farmar to keep his game sharp.
Javaris Crittenton was a great pick up for the Lakers. He is still young, and has to refine his game a little more, but at 6'5" he is a perfect fit for the Lakers triangle offense. I was surprised the Lakers didn't take Rudy though, all the pre-draft rumors were indicating that he was one of the main players they were targeting.
Mitch Kupchak did seem like he wanted to cry... damn Buss family... But stop hating we got some above decent draft picks for their position... Marc Gasol might land us Pao :/
Sun Yue what the hell is up with that i never even heard of his name.I liked that we got Crittenton and Gasol but this Sun guy seems like crap.
How could the Lakers pass on the SEC player of the year, a shooting guard that we need, Byers or the second best player on North Carolina-Rayshon Terry for a Chinese point guard that would not have been drafted at all? Good call Mitch.

Byars can flat out play the game, and would improve the depth of our bench. Sun Yue won't be playing in the NBA for at least a season, possibly two. He was a complete reach for the Lakers. The Lakers didn't fill the void of getting some toughness.
Sun Yue = what Mitch and Jerry looked at in China...freaking pathetic. How the hell do you pass on Byars? I love the Crittenton pick, I've heard great things about him. I'm hoping it's a sign we're shipping Farmar out, I think I'd be pissed if we traded Javaris. Marc Gasol, from what I've heard, is a capable big man, nothing major, but it's another big body that we can use.

Farmar > Crittenton? That's got to be a joke, right? From everything I've read, Crittenton is the better scorer, playmaker, ran the triangle in HS, and Phil Jackson absolutely loves the cat.

PJax might be supportive of Crittenton, but PJax values experience from his starters. I'm just hoping they bring the best out of one another in the offseason. They bring two completely different styles to the Lakers offense.
But is Farmar's experience that much more than Crittenton? If I recall correctly, Phil didn't give Farmar the time of day last year and practice and the game are two different things. I don't know, I love Critt's upside, especially from what I've read and heard from people. Farmar's good and all, but I don't see him as anything special.
What do you guys think of a back court of Farmar and Crittenton, though? At 6'4-5'' he can play the 2. I like the Gasol pick. Apparently from draft.net he only needs to work on his footwork and conditioning. He seems like a fundamentally sound player. Sun Yue, while a head scratcher, will be given him the benefit of the doubt from me for now. He apparently is a PG in a SG/SF body. Overall, if we put Crit, Farmar, and Sun on the court at the same time, we have 3 positions who can play the point.
I'm not so high on the Sun Yue pick, I'd be surprised if he's over here in the NBA in two years time. I'm especially down on this pick because Byars was available.
