What are your thoughts on our pick? I think he will be solid but not great player. He should be able to contribute right away for us. I am a little dissapointed with us not taking Hawes, but lets just see what else happens this off season
Congrats Twolves fans, you now have a new fan. Very good pick for the Wolves, he'll drive you crazy occasionally but for the most part you are going to love having someone so versatile on your roster. Richard was an interesting pick for you guys and I like it too. Good to see C Rich getting some love.
Anyone know what KG is thinking now? Does he still wanna get the hell out of Minnesota? I'm really hoping that KG stays so that Brewer doesn't have to shoulder the majority of the load and be relied on to do too much too early. That and having KG on a team you like would be sweet.
I'm still hoping Foye can develope enough this year to keep kg around. Also, anyone know anything about richards? (I know gators does... lol) I haven't seen a lot on him and am a little curious how one of the gators non-starters is gonna be?
Josh (Indy): Corey, who do u want to be dunking over on your first poster? SportsNation Corey Brewer: (8:52 PM ET ) Joakim Noah.
Honestly Richard is pretty much an unknown, because he didn't play too much. He is a big body that is very efficient around the basket, but basically only put up garbage points off of offensive rebounds and dunks. He really doesn't have much range at all, his defense is good about getting a body on someone and muscling them, but he isn't really a very good shot blocker at all. Honestly I'm really interested how he does in the NBA. I thought he might have to take the Udonis Haslem path overseas and develop a jump shot to come to the NBA.
Well that doesn't sound too bad. It sounds like he is gonna have some trouble getting minutes with craig smith and juwan howard and blount down low. I really hope that we take our time with Brewer. Hopefully we trade RD then let Hassell start and teach Brewer all the little tricks to defending on the next level. PLus once he becomes a better ball handler and shooter, he could be something special. He still has a long way to go though. And lol at that quote on dunking over noah
At this stage of his career, Richard is probably best suited to be the 4th big on a roster to come in and play around 10-12 minutes, just bang around use up some fouls and play physical. Hopefully he can develop a mid range jumper and better low post moves so that he is a threat on offense.
^^Well that kinda sounds like a waste of a pick but i really don't know who else we could've drafted. He seems like a has descent potential. Ok, what position do you guys think Brewer will mostly play as a rookie, and for the rest of his career?

I jumped out of my seat happy that he would be playing with Brewer. I don't know how much potential he has, no one really knows. He was Mr. Basketball in the state of florida, but never really had much of a chance in Gainesville with David Lee, Al Horford, and Joakim Noah all in front of him. He was a class act and you know he won't do anything crazy off the court. I just hope Minnesota gives him a fair chance and hopefully he can produce enough. He is certainly a project, despite being 22 years old. He should be a SF because of his length. He could play SG in spots, but I think SF would probably be where he is best suited.
Brewer, I think will win a DPY award. He was so solid in Florida, shutting down guys like crazy. He was one of my favorite players in this draft, and when there was talks of the Raptors trading for the 8th pick, I was hoping for Brewer with that pick.
The Timberwolves have gone crazy. Brewer over Hawes and Wright? He's not a better player, and he sure as hell didn't fit a team need. Then they take Chris Richard over Aaron Gray, Derrick Byars, and Herbert Hill? Think about that. They took an SEC reserve over the SEC Player of the Year. I'm a fan of both, but they don't make any sense in this situation. What would you rather have as a wolves fan - Brandan Wright and Derrick Byars or Chris Richard and Corey Brewer? You really even shouldn't have to think about that one. And besides, Ricky Davis anyone? Weird draft...
