<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>What surprises me is that Cowher only decided to carry 2 QB's on the 53 man roster. That would be fine if Randle-El were on the roster. Hines Ward played QB in college, so anything is possible. Will Selva who does Sports on Headline News in the morning said it took him several weeks to recover from a appendectomy. Pittsburgh might have to activate Omar Jacobs from the practice squad or re-sign Tommy Maddox. Neither would not fill me w/ great confidence were I a Steelers fan.</div> The Steelers brought Brian St Pierre back, he was third string for a couple seasons with pittsbugrh so he knows the system. With any luck, Charlie will only have to play one week. I am actually quite confident in Batch, he is one of the better back-ups in the league and he was 13/19 for like 150 yards in his last regular season start, just what Pittsburgh will ask of him. He has seen alot of action with the first team for the preseason so now would maybe be the best time for him to have to take over for a week or two. As far as a sports writer telling you how long it took him to recover from a surgery, it really doesn't apply. When an athlete goes into surgery, the doctors are doing every small thing possible to speed up recovery. They may take hours longer on an athlete than a routine surgery would take just to expedite recovery. Aside from that, a pro athlete in outstanding shape will recover much more quickly than you or I would. Hines Ward had a great game against New England 17 days after having the surgery, so I am betting Ben will miss this week and might start next week. Either way, you should see less than 20 passes from Batch as long as the Steelers are on their game plan.
I dunno if i'd trust batch for more than one or two games, I don't think he is consistent enough, but he should do fine for a few game stretch.
I'm glad the Steelers brought back St Pierre. I liked him @ BC & now. I had hoped that Miami would pick up him up out of college or after the Steelers released him initially. The Steelers seem to acquire alot of players from the U of Utah, BYU, or players I hope the phins get. For example, I thought Marvin Philip (recently drafted by the Steelers in the 7th rd) would be an upgrade for Miami. FWIW, MP is LDS and has a tenative tie to Utah.
Big Bens Job is too not to turn over the ball. The Steelers just need to get someone whos really good at handing off the ball and theyll be fine. I think batch throws for 15-20 passes but they run 40 times. Miami wins though

Without Big Ben throwing the ball for 7 scores in the playoffs, the Steelers would not have beaten those teams. He absolutely threw all over Denver! He is a game changer, the only reason he was held back is because he was inexperienced. I will look you up at the end of the season and we will take a look at Ben's numbers..... Nice call on the game prediciton by the way...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zackman)</div><div class='quotemain'>By the way ... <u>Miami</u> has in fact been reported to be interested in Charles Rogers according to the Palm Beach Post! LMAO!</div> As of 9/8; <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Wide receiver Charles Rogers had a workout Wednesday with Tampa Bay. When asked earlier this week, Saban didn't rule out the possibility of scheduling a workout with Rogers, who was waived by Detroit last weekend.</div>
