Bulls current line up (in no real order) - C - Wallace, Gray, Andriuskevicius, Sweetney F - Thomas, Noah, Allen (free agent?) F - Deng, Nocioni, Khryapa G - Gordon, Sefolosha, Griffen G - Hinrich, Duhon, Curry, Barrett (?) Very young at the Power Forward position, and still no offense. Perhaps even worse with no PJ Brown.
I think Duhon's days here are numbered. JamesOn will likely be the backup PG filling the role we had Pargo for for a couple of years, coming in and giving us some scoring. Collison for sale? I'm not interested in Gooden, and even worse we'd have to trade with a division rival. Joe Smith for the MLE? Other than Collison, it doesnt look like we have a lot of options here. We've got a decent rotation of bigs here, now if only one of them could put the ball in the basket... Marty A, I'm looking at you.
Andriuskevicius and Sweetney are both free agents, I doubt Sweetney returns next season, the jury is still out on Marty. I like the team we have right now, Paxson is probably going secure another big man through either (a) a sign and trade involving Andres Nocioni, or ( using the MLE (not sure who is avaliable). Lets not push the panic button too early here. Even if we had selected Hawes with the pick, as opposed to Noah, I still firmly believe Paxson would bring in a veteran big man who has proven he can put at least 10-15 points on the board, on a nightly basis. We have arguable the deepest team in the league in terms of talent from number one through fifteen on the roster, so to think we can orchestrate a deal to get that missing piece we need is not ludicrous. I agree with Ed! right now, when (not if) a trade takes place Chris Duhon is pretty much a lock to be included, he better keep his bags packed. Although, I love Duhon and what he brings to the table I believe his fate was sealed when we drafted Sefolosha last year. Now with the selection of JamesOn its all but official. On a side note, after hearing some of the issues that JamesOn has had in his past, I think its important that we make sure we can count on him, before we offer him a guaranteed deal.
Is Brown retiring for sure? Anyways, if we got Hawes, Paxson wouldn't have to make a sure deal to get a low-post player. I don't think we'll get one again this season, don't really see any player that will fill the presence. This was probably our last season in the lottery, so Paxson will have to make a deal for sure, we probably won't have a chance at another young post prospect unless somehow we get a steal, hoping that we make the playoffs from now on.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bulls, meanwhile, stayed out of the headlines. They inquired about veteran big men such as Denver?s Marcus Camby, Memphis? Pau Gasol and Seattle?s Nick Collison but felt the asking price was too high in all instances. According to team sources, the Bulls did not have any talks with Portland about acquiring power forward Zach Randolph, who was traded to the New York Knicks for Channing Frye and Steve Francis on Thursday.</div> Source: Daily Herald
I don't care for Duhon because he has problems with all of his partying and personal issues. Time to let him go to another team. Nocioni is expected to be re-signed as listed by the Tribune reports over the weekend. Deng will go into contract talks by August and Gordon is unknown at this point. Marty may be re-signed because he's young and still hasn't really been given the right opportunity to prove himself. In Europe he was considered a while back as a top prospect that is willing to bust his balls to learn everything. I'm not big on the kid, but I'd liek to see him come back and prove himself first before we let him go to the FA list.
Ok guys, Chicago report here to those living in the area - Joakim Noah press conference live at 1PM CST. Don't miss that!
Paxson's post-scorer list i think goes like this. 1.Collison 2.Scola 3.Ely Very cheap and will have a bigger impact than Hawes this season.
Scola is the best option on that list, especially if we do indeed re-sign Andr?s Nocioni. If we don't, then Collison would be a great fit with Kirk.
<div class="quote_poster">M Two One Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Scola is the best option on that list</div> I think getting Collison would be the best option imo. I heard Paxson went after him but the price was to much. But a guy that has played in the NBA b4 is someone I really want more also like u said he would be the best fit with Kirk. Collison will give us what Big Z gives to the Cavs and probably better. PG-Hinrich SG-Gordon/Thabo SF-Deng/Nocioni/Griffin PF-Thomas/Collison C-Wallace/Noah We add energy at the start of the game with Thomas likely a few more points than Brown hopefully. (Also note that when Thomas started we won the game ) Then you add more points off the bench by putting Collison on the bench and hes is taller than Scola which we need and can play some minutes at the C. and add some other solid cheap guys.

Hawes is the most offensively skilled big man in the draft. He'll put up better numbers in the post next year than Oden (in terms of ppg and apg not rpg, bpg, etc.). <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PG-Hinrich SG-Gordon/Thabo SF-Deng/Nocioni/Griffin PF-Thomas/Collison C-Wallace/Noah</div> Noah can't play center. He really lacks any posts moves whatsoever. If anything, he's a tweener between the three and the four positions, but he'll likely play the four because of his lack of a jumper. He's got the ballhandling to play outside though. I know it sounds like bashing, but wow, Pax had the perfect chance to complete this roster and blew it, again. Two of the most promising offensive bigmen in the last decade have now been passed on by the Bulls, one in the highpost and one in the lowpost. Perfect. I guess there's nothing really productive that can come from sulking in that fact though. How much room do the Bulls have capwise? Here are free agent possibilities - Marc Jackson, Sean Marks, Kelvin Cato, and more on the higher end, Chris Mihm. All of those guys sound like realistic free agent possibilities.

I wonder what happened there. They were really high on him the last few seasons, but just couldn't handle his buyout. I think Ely is a good option, I'm actually hoping the Lakers give him a strong look. Oberto also just opted out of San Antonio or how about McDyess or Chris Webber?
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Oberto also just opted out of San Antonio or how about McDyess or Chris Webber?</div> McDyess didn't opt out of his contract, so he is out of the question. I would not mind bringing in Chris Webber if we could get him cheap, I think he will most likely end up returning to Detroit, or retiring though.

On that list these are the players i feel will stay PG-Hinrich/Thabo SG-Gordon/?/Curry SF-Deng/Nocioni/Griffin PF-Thomas/?/Brown C-Wallace/Noah/Gray I think Paxson will just feel in 2 more needs. A post-player of course and a tall veteran SG that can play both defense and score. 1. Im going to miss Duhon but we wont be able to pay for him when hes a free agent and we need a post-player now. A Duhon, Khryapa, 2008 first round pick, and second rounders will work for Collison. I know yall am probably tired of hearing me say we need to get him but its the truth. 2. Sign Eddie Jones. IMO, Paxson filled the need 4 centers in the draft instead of giving some overpayed free agent big to do the same. 3. I think Brown will give us one more season. Now with this roster of 14, we are good to go. PG-Hinrich/Thabo SG-Gordon/Jones/Curry SF-Deng/Nocioni/Griffin PF-Thomas/Collison/Brown C-Wallace/Noah/Gray Our payroll would then be less than 60 million. An over-looked part to this roster is that we have more points coming off the bench than last season. Also i know a lot of yall are looking at Thabo playing PG and saying what??. I think he can. He wont be playing it a lot but I think he can get some minutes there.
