The possibility to make a bold move never presented itself and Bryan Colangelo never got the chance to make a substantial trade in his second Raptor draft. On a night when two Atlantic Division rivals made bold moves to alter their rosters, the Raptors had little impact on the NBA draft and now head into the free agent market, starting tomorrow night, trying to add some depth and athleticism to a 47-win team.

I was wishing for Colangelo to make some moves, but I like this years FA market, so maybe we can get a guy like Wallace or Pietrus or a good SF who can give us scoring and depth.

What are your thoughts and what do you want to see be done?

What I want to see most of all is internal improvement. Yes, Boston and New York brought in big names, but we have a more solid base than any other team in the Atlantic Division and if our roster improves like we know it can, then our team has the longevity and talent to outlast all of them. I want Colangelo to make a small free agent acquisition or two to shore up some of our problems from last year and make the loss of Morris Peterson not as big. Other than that, I see no need to panic and make a major move.

It will be weird seeing Peterson not in a Raptors jersey if he leaves

Well, I would rather keep Peterson if I knew he would get better, but he won't, his time as a Raptor is up. We got rid of all the old raptors from their last playoff run, Mo Pete needs to leave too. It is a new era, and it starts with Bosh and Bargnani, not Mo Pete. He did great things for us, but I'm happy that he is leaving.

On Chutney's point, I agree that we have a really solid base, but a small free agent signing, is not what I want to see. I want the Raptors to improve, and I think Colangelo will make a good signing, not a huge one like Billups, but a Wallace or something would be great. But other then that, I agree that a FA needs to be signed and I think it will happen sooner, rather then later.
